Florida Atlantic University was recently named the Top Performing Public University in Florida, tied only with UCF. FAU has seen major growth over the last two years, as it was near the bottom. As a student of FAU, this news is exciting and validating that it’s not just me that thinks we’re the best college in Florida. That being said, there are a few things that FAU students know all too well.
- Parking Wars. Enough said.
- Sprinklers that could end the drought in California
- Getting asked “Excuse me, can you tell me where *blank* is?”
- Answering no to avoid a long description of directions
- Sketchy IRT elevators
- GPT weekly fire alarms
- Seeing random people napping on benches in the breezeway
- Getting attacked by people with flyers in the breezeway
- FAU Internet dipping out every two seconds
- The caf serving the same food. Every. Week.
- Ridiculous Glades Road traffic at odd times
- Random blow-up sides on the housing lawn
- Shaking your head because that’s where tuition goes
- Ugly ducks that poop on everything
- Walking to class in a thunderstorm but walking out of class in the sunshine
- Giant lizards that run rampant. They could easily take over campus with their numbers.
- Nasty banana spiders threatening a traumatic experience daily
- Living all of this, but knowing you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
