18 Songs You Need On Your Summer Road Trip Playlist

Whether it be a day at the beach, an afternoon in an artsy town, or a week-long vacation, summer road trips are not complete without good music to jam to. Here are 18 songs you must add to your road trip playlist; a mix of throwback tunes and more recent pop hits, songs you love and songs you love to hate. You'll be rolling down your windows and maxing the volume on your car stereo in no time.

1. Queen, "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Perhaps the oddest song ever written, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is one of those wacky tunes that is ridiculously fun to sing along to (and don't forget your air guitar and falsetto skills).

2. Miley Cyrus,"Party in the USA."

Rock those kicks and belt out those lyrics like you mean it.

3. Fountains of Wayne,"Stacy's Mom."

How do I even describe this song?

4. The Killers,"Mr. Brightside."

Yes. Just yes.

5. Neil Diamond,"Sweet Caroline."

One of those songs that just never gets old.

6. Fall Out Boy,"Alone Together."

Take turns with your friends singing lead and the backing "Yeah!" for added entertainment.

7. Hoodie Allen,"No Interruption."

Just a flat-out fun track. Learn the whole rap so you can show off to your friends.

8. The Proclaimers, "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)."

This one's especially great when you want to annoy the one person in the car who is trying to take a nap.

9. One Direction, "What Makes You Beautiful."

Admit it. You secretly love it even though you pretend it gives you a headache.

10. Cascada, "Every Time We Touch."

One of those random pop songs that gets you acting out the lyrics and pretending you're dancing on a table.

11. Vanssa Carlton, "A Thousand Miles."

It's that overplayed song of the 2000s that everyone just seems to know and love.

12. Ed Sheeran, "Sing."

Sheeran has a ton of great songs, but this one is by far his most danceable tune. For bonus points, try to keep up with him during the verses.

13. Taylor Swift, "You Belong With Me."

Gotta love young Taylor Swift with the forever-relatable lyrics about feeling invisible.

14. All Time Low, "Dear Maria (Count Me In)."

This one's probably not as relatable as T-Swizzle's, but it's still an awesome jam to sing (or scream?) at the top of your lungs.

15. The 1975, "Chocolate."

If you haven't already guessed, Matty Healy isn't singing about everyone's favorite sweet treat. The song is just as catchy as it is deep and meaningful.

16. N'Sync, "Bye Bye Bye."

What a classic boy-band jam.

17. Survivor, "Eye of the Tiger."

Play this one for motivation when you still have four long hours yet to drive and you're not sure whether you can do it.

18. Panic! At The Disco, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies."

Even if you don't remember knowing this song, you know this song. And you love it.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
