If you're like basically any guy I know, you have no idea what to get that special girl in your life for Christmas; whether it be your significant other or your mother (no judgment). So you every year present with the classic gifts like the lame vanilla cupcake scented candle, the body lotions, and sprays that we all have plenty of and never end up using anyway, or the classic, "MOM" embellished necklace, as if your mother would actually ever wear it.

And to all my ladies reading this: I'm confident that all, if not most, of the items on this list would make you a very happy 21st century gal on Christmas morning.

So here are my ideas for the simple millennial girl should Christmas List:

1. Makeup

You can never go wrong with a nice eye shadow palette and a few of her favorite shades of lipstick. If you have money to spend, you can visit high end stores like Mac or Sephora. But if you're ballin' on a budget like myself, you can pick up basically all of the same quality items for a more affordable price at Ulta.

2. Cardigans/Sweaters

The favorite fall fashion trend. Do you even know of a girl who does not have a closet stocked full of fall fashion like oversized sweaters and cardigans in every color? This one is super simple and easy, just make sure you have the right size or at least include a gift receipt! Hit the mall and check out a few trendy stores like Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, and H&M!

3. Boots

The perfect gift. Fall is boot season, we all know this. A simple pair of black or brown boots can tie a whole outfit together, and who isn't happy with a nice new pair of boots. Keep track of BOGO sales at your friendly neighborhood Payless, especially around the holidays!

4. "5 for $27.50" At VS

What else has to be said about this one!? Victoria Secret is almost always having this sale, so as long as you're pickin' up what I'm puttin' down, you shouldn't have a problem with this one.

5. Concert Tickets

Who doesn't love a good concert? As long as you know what kind of music she's into - you're set!

6. Fuzzy Socks

Remember the disappointment every Christmas as kids, when we unwrapped a present that turned out to be socks? Well, that doesn't apply here anymore. Diamonds are not a girls best friend, fuzzy socks are. You can make your girls day by spending anywhere from $3-$10. You can find a cute pair at J.C Penny, Macy's, and just about any women's clothing stores you can even try the stores mentioned in #2.

7. Candles

I know, I know. I mentioned the "lame vanilla cupcake scented candle" in my intro. But a truth to that seemingly common Christmas present is true. Girls do love candles! Just spice up the scent variety a little bit and her room will smell like "Pumpkin Pecan Waffles", or "Girl Scout Cookie" for months. (Okay, that may be totally me, but it still applies!) Check out Bath & Body Works or Yankee Candle for awesome 3 wick scented candles like those!

9. Starbucks/Dunkin' Donuts Gift Card

Coffee is key to a happy girl. Actually, a happy human being in general. Knowing myself, I spend half my paycheck on coffee each morning. So the girl in your life will appreciate you feeding her addiction while simultaneously saving her wallet.

10. Sunglasses

A good pair of sunglasses is important. Girls typically buy a new pair each year. Kind of because we're indecisive, kind of because we lose them and they are never to be found again. Either way, splurging on a good pair of sunglasses will make a girl very happy. Any girl would love a pair of Ray Bans, but while that is the case, there are cheaper options that are just as nice.

11. Food

Is she happy? Feed her. Tired? Feed her. Angry? Feed her. Catching my drift? Gift cards to pretty much any food joint make perfectly acceptable gifts, especially for a broke and hungry college girl.

12. Jewelry

Now, I'm not talking typical jewelry because I guarantee whoever the lucky lady you'll be buying for is, she has tons of jewelry that looks exactly the same that just sits in her jewelry box for years. Put some thought into it, make it significant and it will mean a lot more. Or you can change it up and get her a watch. Michael Kors watches have been on the rise among young women over the past few years, although they are pricey, if you have the money to spend, look into it!

13. Scarves

You can never have to many as a girl. In the fall/winter I'm in a scarf every day. I probably have one to match every outfit. I get all mine form Charlotte Russe, but like I said, any of the other stores I've mentioned sale them too! I don't think you should have any problems with this one. Side note: Are we catching the drift that Charlotte Russe may be my favorite store? I urge you to check it out!

14. That Perfect Shade Of Nail Polish

Spring/Summer colors include bright, fun colors and pastels. Fall/Winter colors include dark purples, blues, and reds. Nail Polish is relatively cheap and you can find it literally anywhere. CVS, Rite Aid, Ulta, Target. Seriously, almost any store you walk into will have it, I promise. A lot of girls will agree with me that the best quality brand with the most diversity of colors is Essie, if that helps you narrow down your mass variety of options.

15. Netflix Account

Pay for her Netflix account and she'll be happy for the rest of her days, or until she finishes the episode of Grey's Anatomy where Derek dies. (Oops, spoiler.)

16. Blanket

Comfy blankets are a must for the colder weather, a girl can never have to many. Kohl's, Target, and J.C Penny are my go to for this!

17. A Nice Planner

Organization is important and with one semester coming to an end and a new one approaching soon after, look out for a nice planner you think she would like. They do get pricey, like the amazing Lily Pulizter ones. But you can get a nice one from places like Target or Staples.

18. Money

When in doubt, money is the way to go.

Hope this helps you on your holiday shopping journey! Merry Christmas!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
