Music has always been a part of you. You've been in choir or a band ever since you can remember, and you've been performing for friends and family since you were tiny. Not only is music such a part of your life, it's a part of your family's too, and you're happy to share it with them. Your whole family is characterized by their musical ability. Here are some things that are probably true if you grew up in a musical family:

1. Everyone swears you can keep a beat because of how your parents rocked you and pat your butt as a baby.

2. Even if you’re super talented, someone else in your family is probably better.

3. Everyone wants your family to be like the Von Trapps on the Sound of Music and sing concerts together.

4. Long car rides probably consist of lots of harmony and drumming on the backs of the seats.

5. You might hate how loud your house is sometimes, but every one of your friends thinks it’s magical to come to a place where everyone sings.

6. "Happy Birthday" sounds the best in your family, although the melody gets a little lost in the midst of everyone's elaborate harmonies.

7. Musicals make up the bulk of the family movie collection.

8. One of your siblings pretends they aren’t musical, but you all know it’s an act. The singing in the shower proves it.

9. You start singing harmony at the same time. It never fails. Why can’t anyone ever just stick with the melody and let you have your moment?

10. You don’t understand how anyone could have musical talent and tone-deaf parents.

11. Even if you were shy, everyone tried to make you sing as a kid because they knew you had it in you. After all, the rest of the family could do it.

12. Your parents sang the words to any story book that rhymed.

13. Whenever you go over a bridge on a road trip, you all hold a random note and then laugh at how bad it sounds.

14. Cooking doesn’t happen in your kitchen half as much as singing and dancing does.

15. People think you sing back and forth to each other around the house instead of speaking. That may or may not be true.

16. You try to one up each other with how loudly you can belt.

17. If you weren’t in chorus at some point, you were most likely in band, orchestra, or musical theater.

18. Your music tastes may be different, but you can all get a little crazy over some Disney songs.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
