If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for a new show to watch in your free time. In college, especially, there really is no time to watch shows when they’re regularly scheduled at night because you have other things going on. So, if you ever have some time to start a new show or want to re-watch one of your favorite series, Netflix is the answer.

Here are 18 shows on Netflix that are worth binge-watching:

1. "Gossip Girl"

One of my personal favorites, "Gossip Girl" is that show you can watch more than once for sure. It'll make everyone think they have what it takes to be the classic Upper East Sider.

2. "Orange is the New Black"

A Netflix Original Series, "Orange is the New Black" has recently been deemed as an audience favorite. I mean, people just tend to be interested in how women act when in jail instead of how men act.

3. "The Carrie Diaries"

A prequel to "Sex and the City", "The Carrie Diaries" appeals to any audience. It is definitely geared more towards young girls who aspire to live in the city and experience the world of fashion.

4. "13 Reason Why"

Produced by Selena Gomez, "13 Reasons Why" has made its impact after being added to Netflix more recently. Because of its sensitive content and message, it definitely makes an audience think of the repercussions of bullying.

5. "Gilmore Girls"

"Gilmore Girls" is the perfect show for any young girl to watch with her mom, especially if they're close. To make the show even better, the sequel to the series is on Netflix as well.

6. "Glee"

"Glee" is one of the most relatable shows that has ever been on television. Every person who watches it can easily see themselves in each character that is in the cast.

7. "Fuller House"

A sequel to "Full House", "Fuller House" shows what life is like for all the kids, years after they've grown up. For anyone who has watched "Full House", I definitely recommend watching this show to see what happens next.

8. "One Tree Hill"

Another one of my favorites, "One Tree Hill" is a show that can really pull out all of your emotions. The characters start off in high school and are taken through the various stages of life, so you can really get attached to each of them.

9. "Jane the Virgin"

Another show to add to the list of Netflix Original Series, "Jane the Virgin" is the perfect show for teenage girls. Its comedic value will cause anyone to sit and watch for hours, easily finishing the series a day or two.

10. "Shameless"

Next to "Orange is the New Black", "Shameless" has been one of the most popular shows on Netflix. It definitely helps that it's a Netflix Original Series, so an audience will always be eager to know what happens next in the show.

11. "Friends"

How could anyone go through life without watching "Friends"? Tons of quotes from the show are used for almost every situation and anyone who has watched is able to recite them word for word.

12. "Grey’s Anatomy"

If you're into watching drama and attractive people perform surgery, then "Grey's Anatomy" is the show for you. However, if you don't think you can handle watching people operate on others' bodies, I would not suggest binge watching it.

13. "The Vampire Diaries"

"The Vampire Diaries" is definitely a show for all those "Twilight" fans. I mean, if you were Team Edward while watching the "Twilight" series, then what is a better way to add to your obsession than watching a show involving mainly vampires?

14. "How to Get Away With Murder"

Part of the TGIT collection, "How to Get Away With Murder" has to be one of the best shows on television at the moment. Viola Davis is one of the most versatile actresses I've ever seen, so she makes this show even better.

15. "Pretty Little Liars"

If you're into mystery and teenage drama, "Pretty Little Liars" is the show for you. I invested nearly six years of my life into the show just to figure out who "A" was, so it's definitely something worth watching for hours on end.

16. "New Girl"

I have so many friends that rave over "New Girl". It's one of those shows that are only 30 minutes long, so if you're looking for a quick show to watch, this is the one for you.

17. "Friday Night Lights"

Another show with teenage drama, "Friday Night Lights" practically resembles the typical lives of teens in high school. The jocks, popular girls, and others are highlighted in the show, so viewers are able to relate to them.

18. "The Office"

If you're one who is easily amused by dry humor, "The Office" is the show for you. Michael Scott is probably one of the funniest characters on television at large so that easily draws in an audience.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
