Getting assigned random roommates is scary at first, and it can go one of two ways. You can be polar opposites that never get along, or you can find a lifelong friend (hopefully the second one). Regardless, the process always begins the same way…stalking them on social media. In five minutes, you know that their mom’s name is Stacey, their second cousin went on a vacation to Hawaii this summer, and they had the same Aeropostale shirt as you in 2007. Here are some the questions that you ask your future BFF.

  1. What size shoe do you wear?
  2. Which shows have you already binge watched on Netflix?
  3. What about boys? Do you have a boyfriend?
  4. Are you a night owl or a morning bird?
  5. Will you eat chocolate with me and make me smile when I’m sad?
  6. Oh and what about pants and shirts?
  7. Do you clean up your dishes? (Please say yes)
  8. Do you say you’ll go to the gym tomorrow, but end up eating donuts instead? Good, because same.
  9. Are you prepared to sit by the TV every Thursday night for Grey’s? Oh and don’t forget Monday nights for The Bachelor too.
  10. How long does it take you to get ready to go out?
  11. What are your study habits like?
  12. Would you rather be cold or hot in the house?
  13. Are you down to skip the occasional class to go to happy hour?
  14. Are you willing to scream throwback songs and dance in the living room at 2 am on the weekends?
  15. Are you good at cutting onions? If not, we’ll never be eating them.
  16. If I wear the same shirt twice in a row, do you promise not to say anything to me about it?
  17. Do you like to play games? Ex: cards, beer pong, etc.
  18. Will you laugh at my jokes even if they aren’t funny?

P.S. I really like your hair from junior prom.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
