18 Girls' Night Movies

We all need a solid girls' night every once in a while. We need to get away from boys and parties and everything that comes along with it and just have good quality fun with the people who matter most. So, during this time you can do all kinds of cliché slumber party things while watching some of the most amazing movies of all time.

1. Magic Mike

There's dancing, plenty of attractive men, and not a lot of clothes. Also, there's two of them.

2. 10 Things I Hate About You

We've all been Kat before, too independent and not wanting to deal with guys, but where is our Heath Ledger?

3. Legally Blonde

It's lighthearted and fun, but also one of the most empowering and quotable movies of all time.

4. Grease

Hopefully you know all of the words like my friends and I do, but if not it's still a classic and always a good choice.

5. The Notebook

There will be tears, but they will be worth it.

6. He's Just Not That Into You

Everyone can relate to at least one character, and it's fun with a serous side, making it a good watch for anyone.

7. She's the Man

A classic. Young Channing, Amanda Bynes, and all the high school shenanigans you wish you had.

8. A Cinderella Story

It may be a little old and very PG, but will always be one of the best movies. Also gives you a chance to admire Hilary Duff, who was basically every girls' role model at some point.

9. P.S. I Love You

Definitely a tear jerker at times, but it's evened out with good humor and fun. Also, Gerard Butler.

10. Bring It On

The first one is the best, but if you want to get a little crazy a Bring It On marathon is always a good option. See how many innuendos you can pick up on that you definitely missed when you watched this movie at a young age.

11. Easy A

Emma Stone is a queen, Aly Michalka is the best friend we all need, Staney Tucci is a dad, Amanda Bynes is a radical Christian, and Penn Badgley is shirtless. All of this plus an amazing twist on a classic novel, seriously this movie is pure gold.

12. Mean Girls

I don't even have to explain this one, we all know most of the words to this movie and use it in our daily lives.

13. Bridesmaids

The girl's version of "The Hangover," a bit of crude humor but in the best way.

14. Clueless

The plot may be a little weird at first, but once you get past it this movie is obviously a classic and every girl needs to appreciate it.

15. Step Up

This movie produced one of the best marriages in history, so I think it's worth the watch. Also, the other Step Up movies are amazing too.

16. Sweet Home Alabama

One of the greatest love stories of all time, a bit of drama but so much romance.

17. Sixteen Candles

We all wanted our sweet sixteen to be perfect, but I don't think anyone's will compare to this.

18. Dirty Dancing

One of the greatest movies of all time, with killer dance moves everyone still attempts. Also, Patrick Swayze.

So, grab your wine and popcorn, put on your coziest pajamas, invite over your closest gals and get ready to have the best girls' night of your life.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
