Christmas is right around the corner, and you have yet to find the perfect present for that special dancer in your life. Have no fear! As a dancer myself, I have created the ideal list to help you figure out what we actually want under the tree this year.
If you're on a budget:
1. Hair ties
Every dancer in the history of dancers is always in need of a hair tie. Somehow we spend seemingly perpetual amounts of money on these little elastic things, yet they all always end up missing.
2. Bruise Cream
Don't even ask about our legs during performance season -- they're as beat up as a punching bag and as purple as a plum. Keep a dancer from being forced to wear only long pants, they'll be very appreciative.
3. Glitter
Wanna see a dancer bring out their inner 5-year-old? Simply give them sparkly makeup. It's so fun, pretty, and we will literally put it all over anything and everything.
4. Bobby Pins
Similar to hair ties, dancers never seem to have enough of these little saviors. Competition/show hairdos require a ridiculous amount of bobby pins, so grab a couple packs of these guys.
5. Fake Eyelashes
Performances call for ridiculous stage makeup, including the artificial little caterpillars we put on our eyelashes. If you buy a pair of these, don't forget the glue!
If you can afford to splurge a little bit:
6. Lululemon
Lululemon is the perfect dance practice gear. High-quality cute leggings and sports bras are a sure-fire way to make a dancer happy.
7. Beats Pill
Being a dancer consists of practice even outside of practice -- help a dancer blast that routine music with a nice speaker.
8. A Massage
Dancers are pretty much constantly sore during the busy part of the season, so treat them to a session of massage therapy to make up for the long practices and hard work.
9. A Curling Iron
Curling hair is already a pain, and a mediocre one just adds to the struggle. Splurge on a nice one for your dancer!
If you're willing to go all out:
10. A Room Built Into Their House With Mirrors For Walls
Rehearsing outside of practice is a real pain without the mirror walls to help watch our bodies move. Install a personal studio to wow your dancer!
11. A Coach/Teacher That Actually Means "One More Time"
Every dancer knows that when their coach/teacher says to do a routine "one more time," that actually means anywhere from 2-10 more times. Hire a new, honest leader for your dancer to avoid the lies and the exhausted bodies.
12. A Clone To Attend Everything They Miss Because They're At Practice
"I can't, I have practice" is a sentence every dancer knows all too well. Hire a scientist to clone your dancer so that they no longer have to sacrifice their social life to do what they love!
