1. G Suite

G Suite is for all Google Apps, in one place. Users are able to access Sheets, Docs, Slides, Gmail, Calendar and more without having to download each separate application. Personally, I put all of my schoolwork in Google Drive to free up space on my computer and to back up all files. Also for my sorority, we use Sheets all the time to sign up for events and the only way they are editable on your phone is through the app.

2. Spotify

If you aren't on the Spotify trend yet, you need to be. Spotify is similar to Apple Music but easier to use and has way better curated playlists. Premium is $5 a month for students and comes with no ads, the ability to download music, unlimited skips, and now a Hulu subscription.

3. Chegg

Chegg has the cheapest and easiest way to buy and rent textbooks. They are a great shipping alternative if you don't have Amazon Prime.

4. Brainscape

Brainscape allows users to create and study flashcards within the app. They also have already made flashcards for big tests such as the MCAT and GRE, as well as for many different subjects and languages.

5. Duolingo

6. Word Reference

Word Reference is the best app for those taking Spanish. The app makes it easy to find spanish words, translate, conjugate verbs and much more.

8. Canvas

If your university uses Canvas to manage assignments, the app is a great additive. If you need to email professors, students or look at assignments quickly, the app is great when away from your computer. You can even download assignments and turn in ones that are due.

9. Microsoft Office Mobile

13. Circle of 6

This app allows you to put in the information of your 6 closest friends. When you are unsafe or in a bad situation, one click will send all 6 people a text saying that you need help, including your current location. 15. Yelp

In a big college town with new restaurants to try? Yelp is great for finding good restaurants in your area with real review and pictures.

16. Uber

We have all heard of Uber, but some of us don't really use it until last minute. It's best to have the app downloaded if you need it quickly if you are in trouble or get lost, or just don't want to walk in the cold to a party.

17. LinkedIn

If you're looking for a job after college, LinkedIn is where you need to be. You can make a portfolio, add friends, and even look for jobs right on the app.

18. Microsoft Outlook

We all hate it when we get to class, only to find that it was cancelled and the email from our professor was sent out that morning. Outlook allows you to connect your email and get notifications for every new email, so you can get that extra sleep or easily email someone back.
