Alright friends, here's a quick rundown of how things work around here. If you're an incoming freshman, proudly representing the CCU Class of 2020, or a transfer student that's just not sure how we do things, these tips are exclusively for you. Take this as your fair warning. The rest of us here don't want you to embarrass yourself so please read the following very carefully:

  1. You’re not going to wake up in time for that 8:00 a.m. class.
  2. Don’t ask when construction will be over or when the road will reopen; nobody really knows. Construction never stops. Embrace it.
  3. Go into CINO Grille with a game plan. Don’t hold up the line during the 11 a.m. - 12 noon lunch rush.
  4. Get involved with a club or campus organization. You’ll actually like school a lot more if you do.
  5. Have fun but don’t be stupid. You’re here to get a degree, not a record.
  6. Take advantage of the free stuff.
  7. Hurry the freak up when you’re crossing at a crosswalk. We’re not on your time people!!
  8. Go Greek! (If you want). I highly encourage it but it's not for everybody.
  9. Remember where you parked your car/bike.
  10. Put the map down and just ask somebody where the building is.
  11. The Edwards Building may seem like a maze, but it’s just a huge square. If you feel lost, just keep walking.
  12. Don’t steal the good study rooms in Klub K. Go home instead of being "that guy".
  13. Take your CINO ID Card/room key lanyard down from around your neck.
  14. Go to the tailgates & games.
  15. Always be prepared for a monsoon. Welcome to South Carolina.
  16. Don’t talk about whatever you did/who you were back in high school. No one cares. (Sorry not sorry pal).
  17. Don’t walk around like the world owes you something. Be a good person.
  18. Try not to wear other school’s gear around campus. We are TEALNation
  19. Bleed Teal.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
