TV Guide

One of my favorite shows on both TV and Netflix is "New Girl." If you’ve ever seen the show, you are more than familiar with the main character, Jessica Day, or Jess. She’s incredibly relatable and quirky, making her an icon for many college students. Here are 17 times most people have been Jess.

1. When you go out after a rough test

2. When all your friends are in relationships

3. When your friends tell you about their classes

4. When you drunk text an ex

5. When you not-so-subtly spill a drink on that girl you don't like

6. When you have a bad day and stress eat after

7. When you see that guy you like out at the bars

8. When you don't have enough money to go out with your friends

9. When your friends don't want to go out anymore but you got alcohol for the pregame

10. When you have three tests in one week

11. When your family asks if you're seeing anyone during a holiday break

12. When you lose your friends while out and have no idea how to get home

13. When you and your friends spend too much time together

14. When you haven't eaten all day

15. When you have a weekend to relax

16. When it's finals week

17. When your friends ask if you want Chipotle

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
