There is nothing better than a Friday on a college campus. It means you made it through another week of being a responsible adult trying to survive on cereal. Everyone is excited for the same reason: the weekend. That means it's time to forget about your responsibilities and act like your paper isn't due on Monday.

1. Waking up and realizing that it's the best day of the week.

It's a satisfying feeling and seeing "Friday" on your iPhone that you cracked the weekend before at the frat house that plays throwbacks. Definitely gotta go back there tonight so you can dance to Ignition with your roommates.

2. But sitting through lectures that day seems to be impossible because it's just...

3. Then class ends and you run home because it's time to start your weekend.

And what's better than starting your weekend? Nothing, actually.

4. When you start the party in your own room at 3 in the afternoon because... You just. Can't. Wait.

You have to practice your new dance moves somewhere, so why not hours before the party starts? Dance parties are always okay.

5. And your friends walk in and judge you so you just have to tell them a big life lesson:

6. When you try on your entire closet and you're left with the same outfit you wore last weekend.

Then you realize it's time to go shopping for more clothes... but you also only have $2.49 in your bank account. Maybe it's time for a job.

7. Then it's finally time to leave and your squad rolls out.

8. And you get in your Uber and tell your driver about your complicated "love life."

There is no stronger trust between two people than with you and your uber driver.

9. Then there's a silence in the car and you realize you forget the most important part.

Sorry, Mr. Uber. You're just a good listener.

10. And then you walk into the party...

And your friends know exactly what's about to happen and they try to stop you but they can't.

11. But someone tries to dance with you and you give your friends the look...

"No. Strong no. Evacuate."

12. And then your song comes on and you look at your other friend from across the room...

13. Then you see someone in your 12:05 lecture and get super excited.

Even though you've only spoken a solid twenty words to them.

14. Next thing you know you're at home having your own after party.

15. Then you wake up...

16. And your roommates tell you about your night.

17. Then you come to the conclusion that:

Now it's Saturday and you get a few hours of recovery time full of brunch. Thank you, brunch. You will help me through another night.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
