If you started the second semester on the 17th of January like myself, then congrats! You survived the first week of the semester! We all dread going back to homework, studying, and 9 AMs, but once we get back into the swing of things, it will feel like you've never even left for winter break. Having entirely new classes with a new batch of classmates and professors, several thoughts run through your head during the first class of the new semester.

1. "What is this professor's name again?"

2. "I am a 20-year-old adult, why am I playing an ice breaker game."

3. "Why is my partner for the ice breaker game telling me his whole life story? I just asked for his major..."

4. "Why am I the only one in here from out of state?"

5. "Why does this syllabus seem so daunting?"

6. "I wish I went to a school that respects the holy holiday of obligation known as 'sylly week'."

7. "Ehhh...there's plenty of time until March, so I don't have to worry about these projects just yet."

8. "Oh no, it's that guy/girl that never stops talking that I had class with last semester!"

9. "OMG, they're already starting with their yapping and it's only 9 AM."

10. "I definitely have to pick a new seat tomorrow. I can't see the board."

11. "Why won't this guy just tell the professor which name he wants to go by? It clearly does matter."

12. "Why is this room hotter than Satan's Gates of Hell?"

13. "Does this professor realize my bank account barely has enough for lunch, let alone three textbooks?"

14. "Speaking of which, what should I eat for lunch today?"

15. "Why are these desks so close together?"

16. "Wait, what class is this?"

17. "We better be let out early, it's the first day!"

18. "Is it Spring Break yet?"

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
