It's time I speak, think and act for myself, and not live up to people's expectations. I want to be happy and fearless!

2016 was a good year for me, but towards the end, it made a turn for the worse. I was extremely grateful for everything I accomplished throughout the year even when times got rough. It was definitely a year where I made some self-discoveries, learned some hard lessons, and realized "adulting" isn't easy. I look forward to what 2017 has in store for me, and hopefully if I go by my "Not-To-Do" list, I will have another good-ish year (but a little bit better than 2016).

This year I will (at least try)not:

1. Settle for less

2. Dwell on past relationships

3. Lower my standards and expectations

4. Compromise my set morals and values

5. Let someone ruin my happiness

6. Take an 8 am class

7. Tell myself that "crying is weak" so that I don't cry or look emotional

8. Stay around negative people/vibes

9. Go back to the people who continuously hurt me for years

10. Do things for people who don't do shit for me

11. Continue to be so naive and too trustworthy

12. Stay quiet when I have something to say

13. Keep my feelings bottled up inside until I get depressed

14. Cry myself to sleep after a bad day

15. Change who I am

16. Let people take advantage of me/use me

17. Stay mad at those who made me feel weak and miserable

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
