17 Things I Feel About The Presidential Election

I'm Over It

17 Things I Feel About The Presidential Election

I think most of us can agree that this election cycle so far has been the craziest it has ever been. The republicans started out with 1,000,000 candidates and is about to pick the loudest and most obnoxious of all their choices (Sarah Palin would win on the obnoxious scale if she was running). The democrats haven't done any better. They had to visit some poor loony bin in the northeast to find three of their candidates and they even put in a closet republican (Jim Webb, I mean come on that guy was hardly a democrat). Now that the field is narrowed and, in my humble opinion, the only good choices for either party are now gone! I can't imagine myself defending any of the three stooges the republicans have running (sorry Kasich, you're done), or supporting Hillary Corruption or the old angry Muppet, Here are 17 things I feel about politics.

1. When I weigh the pros and cons of the candidates...

There is just no good side.

2. I think this might be a better option

It's not much different than what's being offered

3. When I considered the possibility of Bernie Sanders

I would like to feel the Bern drop out of the race

4. Seriously, I can't look at the guy without thinking...

Also, one of the old angry Muppets that sits in the balcony

5. When some one asks me who I support....

Eh...

6. My response to "What about Hillary?"

Just say no

7. Why aren't you voting for Ted Cruz?

Do you really think Kevin would make a good president?

8. Or Rubio?

Domo arigato Mr. Rubio

9. Just seeing any news about the election...

Just change the channel

10. I try and talk about it but I just end up even more upset...

Stupidity makes me upset...

11. So I'm done with politics

So done.

12. So any time it gets brought up, I'm out

I guess I could just watch Star Wars or something.

13. I really just don't know what to think anymore

I'm as confused as Hillary is about her emails

14. But I do know that this is America...

I love me some 'Merica

15. And we need to vote...

It's our duty

16. So pick your crap pile

Literally all crap no matter how much you shine it

17. And get out there and vote!

(Insert apathetic thumbs up and smile)

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
