Chattanooga, Tennessee is one of the greatest cities on earth! Chattanooga is home to a diverse group of people, many beautiful sights, some of the best food, and so many attractions. As someone who has lived in Chattanooga for nearly 20 years, here is a list of 17 things to do downtown in 2017.

1. Slide Down The Hill On Cardboard

The hill is located on Ross's Landing, and there is plenty of cardboard sleds already there.

2. Sunset Rock

Feel up to a hike? This is the perfect place! Hikers hike right before sunset to see a beautiful view on the rock. It is located on Lookout Mountain.

3. Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge

This bridge is the world's longest pedestrian bridges, and it hold a spectacular view of downtown!

4. Hot Chocolatier

This chocolate shop was recommended to me by one of my fellow creators. This restaurant is home to delightful, chocolate treats! You can even watch the action that goes down in the kitchen.

5. IMAX

The IMAX is a great place to see movies in 3-D. This theater has huge screens, and they even recently got laser projectors!

6. Go To A Concert!

There are SO MANY local bands around Chattanooga that play gigs. It shouldn't be hard to find a random concert, and watch a band you've never heard of before.

7. Shop

There are a number of small, local businesses in Chattanooga, and they each have such unique products.

8. Biking

Anyone can rent a bike through Chattanooga's "Bike Share Transit" and take a lovely stroll through downtown.

9. Take A Walk

Have I mentioned how beautiful Chattanooga is? Whenever I take a walk downtown, I always get a special feeling I don't get anywhere else.

10. Eat

There are more restaurants downtown than I can count! Every one of them all are unique and very yummy.

11. Get Some Ice Cream

ESPECIALLY if you go to Coolidge Park. As a local, ice cream always seems a bit more fitting than one might think.

12. Ruby Falls

Ruby Falls is home to a waterfall 1,120 feet underground. This place also is famous for their "Haunted Caverns" attraction for Halloween. The workers do a splendid job for many different holiday seasons every year.

13. Tennessee Aquarium

This aquarium has just about everything, including penguins! According to tnaqua.org, this aquarium is "a nationally acclaimed attraction."

14. Anything Outdoorsy

One can do anything they want in Chattanooga! There is hiking, canoeing, biking, paragliding, paddleboarding, etc.

15. English Rose Tea Room

If you are anything like me, you love a proper tea. I had the oppurtunity to visit last year, and it was simply delecious!

16. Mount Vernon Restaurant

One time my father and I went on a daddy-daughter date here. I never would have guessed how fancy this restaurant was. My favorite food there was the fried green tomatoes with their special Mount Vernon Sauce. Dad said people come from everywhere to eat here!

17. Wing It!

Go for a walk, drive, or even bike ride to find a random event going on. There's always something happening in Chattanooga, Tennessee!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
