It's cold, there is no sun, and school is going ahead at full speed- need I say more? With that said, it's pretty easy to get into a winter funk around this time of year. For me, listening to music is a great way to change my mood around and start thinking more positive thoughts. Here are 17 songs you can add to your playlists to make your days a little bit brighter!

1. Say You Won't Let Go- James Bay

If you don't believe in love, you will after you listen to this song.

2. 93 Million Miles- Jason Mraz

I will put this song on every playlist I ever make for the rest of my life because it's that good of a song. Instant mood booster, I guarantee it.

3. Little Bird- Ed Sheeran

Funny Story, the first time I ever heard this song was in Hollister. Never forget, the middle school Hollister days. Nevertheless, this song is still one of Ed's best. Upbeat, fun, an oldie but a goodie.

4. Don't Stop Making It Happen- Grouplove

Brought to you by the same band that brought you the hit "Tongue Tied" a couple years back. This song is super upbeat and will have you dancing on your feet in no time.

5. 30,000 feet- Ben Rector

If it were up to me I would have made this entire playlist Ben Rector songs, because each and every one of them makes me happy to no end. But for the sake of the article, I figured one would suffice. "30,000 feet" is on of my all time favorite. Definitely a song that makes you sit back and realize how blessed you are and all you have going for you.

6. Portugal - Walk The Moon

One of my all time favorite WTM songs, a great song to jam out to in the car as well.

7. Dance With Me- Ra Ra Riot

Get up and dance to this on, you won't regret it!

8. The Dog Days Are Over- Florence + The Machine

Can't go wrong with Florence, you just can't.

9. Don't Doubt- Blind Pilot

A bit of a slower song and not as upbeat, but definitely a great reminder that everything will work out in the end.

10. Run- COIN

A good, upbeat song can always turn that frown upside down!

11. Waiting on Summer- VHS Collection

Because who isn't waiting on summer?

12. Someday- The Strokes

The beat to this song is undeniably catchy! Try listening to this song without at least tapping your foot, I bet you can't do it.

13. Send Me On My Way- Rusted Root

Matilda, anyone?? A classic, nonetheless

14. What I Like About You- The Romantics

I had to throw this one in here, It's too good of a feel good song to not.

15. That's How You Know- Nico & Vinz

Awesome beat, undeniably catchy.

16. ILYSB- LANY

I'm a sucker for a good LANY song. Watch out for this band, they're going places.

17. Lush Life- Zara Larsson

Nothing like a good summer hit to get you through the day!

Hope these songs help to make your days brighter and happier! Happy Listening!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
