We've reached the point in the semester where we're fully in the swing of things, midterms have begun, sleepless nights have come upon us. As a freshman, the transition to college is always jarring, but now you feel settled. The honeymoon phase is over and college feels real. And with an introspective look, you've decided that you have now transformed into the quintessential college student.
1. You've taken more naps since coming to college than you have in your entire life.
As you can see from the graph, the amount of naps I take has exponentially increased from last year.
2. You can't remember the last time you got more than eight hours of sleep at a time.
Is sleep a real concept?
3. You've started replacing meals with coffee.
"I only need three hours of sleep if I have five cups of coffee."
4. You consider going to bed at midnight early.
5. You have no idea how you ever got up for class at 6:30 am in high school.
Me trying to survive high school6. You have no idea how you ever went to class for seven hours a day in high school.
7. You hate 9 a.m. classes with a burning passion.
8. You don't even talk about 8 a.m. classes.
9. You seriously debated whether it would be better to sleep in the library.
10. You then decided to sleep in the library.
11. You hear the word "free" and you automatically want it.
Free t-shirts? Where?
12. You got a 60% (before the curve) on your calculus midterm and you're really excited.
My logic.
13. You see tour groups. All. The. Time.
14. You can accurately identify prospective students just by looking at them.
It's really easy when they wear the sweatshirt, sweatpants, and hat.
15. You spend too much time on Yik Yak (and twitter, and instagram, and definitely snapchat).
Can I write on my resume that I have good yakarma?16. You finally feel like you belong on campus.
You have a good group of friends, you know where all your classes are and the best routes to get there, and you have a sense of school pride.
Shout out to all the freshmen who are surviving their first semester, you can do it.
