Houston, we have a problem!

No, we don't ride horses, have shoot-offs with people or wear cowboy hats on a daily basis. Yes, we like our fried Oreo cookies, cowboy boots, sweet tea, Rockets and football team. Welcome to Houston!

1. You Remember Astroworld

Every time you drive on 610, you remember probably the coolest amusement park to ever be in Houston. They have made plans to reconstruct Astroworld though (Yay!), but until then, I guess we all have to drive to Kemah.

2. Bluebonnets

Starting January, every green plot gets filled with bluebonnets. Do you even take proper portraits if it's not with them?

3. Chinatown

With over 300 restaurants and a city mall, Chinatown is only one example of the diversity Houston holds! Also, where else would you go for your fix of bubble tea?

4. Hillcroft

Starting on Gandhi Street, over 200 shops form a "Little India," where you can buy all the saris you desire, you don't even have to take an 18 hour flight!

5. Rockets #Fearthebeard

Forever where we get our name from, #clutchcity will always take pride from the Rockets.

6. Beyoncé

One of the biggest prides of Houston is that it is the home of Beyoncé. Do I need to elaborate? I don't think so.

7. Galleria

Over 200 stores, an ice rink and countless eateries, the Galleria is the biggest one stop shop for any event ever.

8. FPSF

What actually took place this past weekend, Free Press Summer Fest is the number 1 concert of the summer held in the heart of Houston. The lineup (this past weekend) included Mac Miller, BØRNS, A$AP Ferg, The Chainsmokers, DEADMAU5 and more.

9. Galveston

Though Galveston might not be the prettiest beach (and you've probably talked smack about it more than anyone else), but anyone not from Houston is allowed to even begin to diss it, like God forbid.

10. Clutch City, Htown, Screwston

Multiple names, multiple things we're famous for. You identify Houston with probably all of them.

11. Construction

No matter what highway, freeway, toll road or even street you take, it's always under construction. Forever the paved land of concrete.

12. Country?

You own cowboy boots, go to the rodeo, listen to Brad Paisley and claim yourselves country, though there's little to no farms unless you go 45 minutes out of the city.

13. Houston Traffic

Southern hospitality is great and all, but that disappears the minute you get on the road or else you'll be there until tomorrow.

14. Houston Museum Art District

Did you even take your senior portraits, prom pictures or outdoor photo shoots of any kind if you didn't take it here? Probably one of the most beautiful places in Houston, the Art district takes at least five trips to see it all.

15. Westheimer And Kirby

Once you start driving on either, your whole schedule has gone to dogs for the rest of the day -- I hope you've got that sick playlist going!

16. Dallas

17. Flood

California, take our water! At the rate that Houston has flooded this past year, we would expect our name to be Atlantis. PSA: Invest in a rowboat and / or kayak, another opportunity may yet come up!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
