17 Signs You Went To Camp Ramah In The Berkshires
Rachel Underweiser

Every summer camp is different so it is impossible to fully understand the culture of a camp until you have lived through its unique bipolar showers and its mysterious mac and cheese. As the weather is getting warmer, I find myself thinking about my own camp experience and the wacky culture that is Ramah Berkshires. So, in anticipation of summer 2016, here are 17 signs you went to Camp Ramah in the Berkshires. *Bubbe approved*

1. The dance to The Turkish Kiss has been your jam for as long as you can remember. Turn it up!

2. You know how to memorize a script for a musical in less than a week and somehow have it turn out OK. Oh, and did I mention it's all in Hebrew?

3. You remember that painful moment when canteen changed from three items to two items (And got rid of peanuts. That was rough).

4. Ben and Jerry's (BJ's) is precious. Half Baked all the way!

5. How Solelimers act when they get their first night of curfew.

6. The sensation of sitting in the make out pagoda during B-Side free time with your B-Side Buddy.

7. You add cinnamon sugar to about every breakfast meal.

8. You understand the meaning of "make new friends" on Palmer day.

9. The moment when Rabbi Resnick is interrupted during Hinei Ma Tov.

10. You understand the struggle of trying to wake up your live-in for tefillot.

11. The glory that came with finding the freaking elephant.

12. When the waiter takes your table's order first at Putman.

13. The feeling after getting free soda at Cedar Point.

14. Visiting friends or campers at the marp like:

15. When your bunk has pack-out and suddenly there are 17 campers in your bunk (three are in the marp, obviously).

16. How you felt after most chug practices the week before Palmer Day.

17. You have found your soulmates.

There is something special about the people who wanted to run and hug you just after you went mud sliding or thought you were wonderful even when there was clearly food stuck in your braces. These are the people who will sing on tree stumps with you in the middle of the night and the people who will show up at your wedding someday with the longest list of stories to share. Thank you for loving me, I love you guys!

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
