Many people--older siblings in particular--say that the youngest child in a family gets spoiled. Although this might be true in some aspects, there are still many, MANY, drawbacks of being the youngest child. Being the youngest child can actually be pretty tough, here's some reasons why being the youngest is lonely, frustrating, and heart breaking.
1. You are dragged to all of your older siblings' sporting games.
2. You are dragged to all of your older siblings' recitals.
3. You are dragged to all of your older siblings' award banquets.
Like do I have to go?
4. None of your older siblings go to your sporting games, recitals, or award banquets because they get the option, and/or they are too far away.
5. You get last pick in everything.
6. You never get your own, brand new stuff; my college dorm room is the definition of hand me down.
7. Everyone complains that you're spoiled, over and over and over again.
8. Your siblings only want to spend time with you when they're in debt and you aren't yet because your parents still pay for you.
9. You're always the one getting picked on/beaten up/hated on.
10. You're parents don't pay much attention to you when your siblings are around, but then as soon as they're all gone, they've got the hawk eyes.
11. During the time period when your siblings are all gone to the time until your graduation, all your parents talk about is their excitement for finally having a quiet house. Thanks, I feel the love.
12. You do ALL the chores, since no siblings are around to help with them.
13. You NEVER get shotgun.
14. You have to risk your life when your siblings learn to drive, but they never have to when you're learning to drive.
15. You aren't allowed to stay up late with everyone else.
16. Your parents have all of their rules and punishments perfected by the time your time to break the rules comes around.
17. You have to live up to the expectations your siblings have made for you.
