I remember growing up I would wish everyday for glasses. But when that day finally came, it was a wish I immediately wanted to take back. When my parents thought I was responsible enough I was able to start wearing contacts and that made it a little better. Being able to see without looking through a box around your eyes made things a lot easier. However, there are some downsides that are just annoying and annoyingly painful...
1. When you wear your two week lenses for months before changing them.
2. When they move out of place and you try to subtly move them back.
3. The moments when your drop your lenses and can't find them on the floor or the bathroom counter.
4. But then you realize you can't live with out it and you really do need it.
5. Those days when they hurt for absolutely no reason and you try to blink the pain away.
6. When you put them in inside out and it's like pain that you've never felt before
7. Dealing with stares when people see you touching your eyeballs.
8. Finally updating your prescription and everything is so clear and not blurry at all.
9. When you accidentally fall asleep with your contacts in.
10. The alarming feeling when you take your contacts out before locating the whereabouts of your glasses.
11. You forget what it's like to wake up in the morning and being able to see everything.
12. Everyday you dream about the day that you finally are able to get LASIK.
13. When you're eyes water because your contacts dried out and everyone asks why you're crying.
14. The one day you actually where your glasses and people freak out.
15. When one lens falls out and you're only half blind
16. The first step of your morning routine is rolling over and reaching for your glasses on your nightstand.
17. In the end your just thankful that you have a choice to not wear glasses when its raining outside and then you don't have to wear them in general.
