Alright folks, it's T minus less than a week until Christmas. And I'm sure some of you are still searching for the last minute present for your girlfriend. Here are 17 suggestions:

1. Fuzzy Socks

Always a plus. Keeps our forever cold feet warm. Also, they're fun to wear and make us feel warm and fuzzy inside.

2. Fuzzy Blanket

You can never go wrong with this. Blankets are awesome. Girls love being burritos every so often, and what better blanket to be one in than the fuzzy one you gave her?

3. Fuzzy Pjs

We like to be as cozy as possible when it's bedtime. Warm pajamas are a must, especially with how cold it's been. And they're cute, so why not?

4. Fuzzy Slippers (really, anything fuzzy)

Slippers are the greatest thing ever. Our feet like to feel soft and warm okay? Besides, the warmer our feet are, the less we'll have to take your body heat.

5. Chocolate

Need I explain? If she doesn't like chocolate, I'm sure her favorite candy will do the trick.

6. Food in general

Again, need I say more? Food, especially our favorite food, is always an awesome gift.

7. Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate

Mmmm, yummm. These are the best pick me ups in the cold, especially in the morning. Also, they keep our fingers warm.

8. A Cute Travel Mug

This is a great buddy gift for #6. A girl can never have too many mugs for all her wonderful hot drinks. And they make us feel more productive than we actually are.

9. “Smell-Good Stuff"

Sorry, it was too good of a quote not to use. Anyway, what girl doesn't like perfume and nice smelling body soap? Candles and wax warmers are great ideas too, even if she lives in a dorm. Personally, I just smell my candles, I don't even burn them. Totally fine with it.

10. A Phone Case

A new phone case would add some variety to her life, and some of them are super cute. I'm sure your bae would love a new, pretty case to adorn her phone with.

11. A Kitten

Or a puppy. Okay, I'm kidding. Well, half kidding. If she lives on campus, this is a no. But if she has her own apartment that allows pets, and really super wants one, it's probably not a bad idea. Probably.

12. A Cute Necklace

Even if she's not a big jewelry girl, every girl loves to have that one cute little necklace from her boo. It'll remind her of you and make her feel safe when you're not around.

13. Shoes

Again, even if she's not a shoe person, I'm sure she's been eyeing a pair up somewhere. Be it wedges, stilettos, or sneakers, she'll really be touched if you get her those shoes she's been checking out for months.

14. Books

If she's a bookworm, take a look at her bookshelf or ask one of her friends what kind of books she wants. For us bookworms, books are treasures, and she'll love you a lot if you get one for her. And it'll give you guys something to do together while you drink that hot chocolate.

15. One of Your T-Shirts

Or at least let her claim one as usually hers. She loves the smell of you, and loves to sleep in your clothes when you're away. Maybe give one to her, or at least have a rotation on your clothes so you can also wear them.

16. Movie Tickets

Great idea for date night. I'm positive with all these movies coming out that she wants to see at least one. Get tickets to see it, and make a nice date out of it. Every girl loves that.

17. Anything Hand Made By You

Cheesy, I know. But also true. It will forever be tied to you in a way nothing else can be. That gift for her was made with love. You had to think about it, create it with your own hands. She'll love it, and you, all the more for that.

Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. <3

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
