A new year means new trends, viral videos, dances, events and many more made up crazes. 2016 was quite the memorable year for that, and here's a round up of everything people went crazy for this year:

1) Juju on that beat and the Running Man challenge

These became very popular dances that trended everywhere!

2) Stranger Things

The world went crazy over this new, science-fiction TV show. Go watch it on Netflix!

3) Damn Daniel!

Just a high school kid, walking around in his white vans, and everyone went crazy over him and the kid behind the camera, saying the infamous line, "Damn Daniel!"

4) Pokemon Go

How many times did you walk outside and see people staring at their phones trying to find Pokemon?

5) Clown invasion

Terrifying clowns started to terrorize towns and cities in September. Was it an early Halloween prank? We never found out.

6) Finding Dory

The little kid in all of us was so excited when we heard this movie was being released.

7) Leonardo DiCaprio FINALLY won an Oscar

We have been waiting for this moment forever!

8) The Chicago Cubs won the World Series

The Cubs finally got the World Series title after 108 years!

9) Beloved celebrities passing away

Prince, Alan Rickman, Florence Henderson, and David Bowie are a few of the tragic passings.

10) The Mannequin Challenge

This viral video trend became popular among the world where people take videos as if they were frozen in time. These groups include the BYU gymnastics team as well as the Cleveland Cavaliers at the White House!

11) "Squad"

If you have a group of friends, you call them your "squad."

12) America Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare

The anticipation and excitement is always great leading up to the release of a new season of American Horror Story. And they did not disappoint!

13) Donald Trump wins presidency

This was a shock to many people, and was definitely the biggest news story of 2016.

14) "It's lit"

Yes, this became an actual phrase, meaning something exciting/fun was about to happen and you're "turnt."

15) Rio Olympics

2016 was another year of the Olympic games held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

16) Sad papaw

The internet went insane over this sad grandpa after his granddaughter posted a picture of him after grilling burgers for all of his grandkids, and only one out of his six grandchildren showed up to eat with him.

And with that, 2016 was quite the year, but most are happy it's coming to an end. So cheers to saying goodbye to 2016 and hello to another crazy year!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
