hristmas is coming and you're probably already shopping for the important people in your life. As an introvert, I know sometimes it's difficult to know what to get us. In my experience, introverts are more likely to buy you a gift than to explain what they want as a gift. I don't like talking about myself or asking for things, so that just compounds it. However, I'm here to help! These are some gifts that most introverts would love to have! (If nothing else, this should get you started thinking what an introvert might want as a gift.)

Just to start, a brief reminder that introvert just means that we like doing things on our own to recharge. We aren't anti-social (for the most part), we just need time to ourselves in order to be with people.

1. Oversized T-Shirts

If your introvert is anything like me, when I'm planning on spending the entire day at home I wear loose comfortable shirts, typically the softer the better. If they have fun sayings on them, it's even better!

2. Stretchy Pants

Along with the oversized shirt, stretchy pants are desired for a relaxing day in. They move with you and don't leave their 'judgemental pink teeth' around your hips. If your introvert is always cold, look into fleece lined or fuzzy lounge pants!

3. Scarves, Gloves, or Hats

Like the rest of the population, we get cold when we go out into cold weather too. I like to bundle up when it's cold outside, so chunky scarves are a great start. Gloves to keep your fingers warm (and potentially turn the page in your book) and hats to keep the tips of your ears warm are also welcomed.

4. Socks

Particularly of the fuzzy persuasion if your introvert is as cold natured as I am. Any socks are welcomed because they can be personalized to a particular hobby or fandom they love. Plus, they're just so stinking useful!

5. Pillows

It can be any pillow you want, but I love decorative pillows. They describe more about me and additionally give you a little more support when you're trying to read in bed. Not to mention, there are so many decorative pillows out there that you can personalize.

6. Blankets

There's nothing like curling up under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate (or coffee, or tea) and a good book. The more blankets, the merrier! I really appreciate fuzzy ones myself, but any blankets are great for a day of binge-watching Netflix.

7. Snacks

We all have a favorite snack food that we enjoy eating as we watch Netflix. These are perfect for the day that you just want to spend in bed doing nothing. Chocolate is always a good starting spot for this!

8. Tote Bag

When we're forced to go out, more often than not we don't like to be left without something to do. I bring a book and my writing notebook almost everywhere I go. Giving them a tote bag, a purse, or a backpack that you feel is personalized to them is a great way to accommodate that.

9. Favorite Books

If your introvert is a reader, try finding a book they've been wanting to read or a book that they adored and don't yet have a copy of. It shows that you've been paying attention to them but it also gives them the rights to read freely.

10. Coffee Mug/Tumbler

Sometimes it's just really hard to deal with people. That's just going to be the case no matter who you are. For the days where you just need coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or something else - the mugs you give them will be super useful and appreciated. Plus, they're highly useful when curling up in front of a window to watch it rain or snow. For the on-the-go introvert, check out a coffee thermos or tumbler!

11. Notebooks

Notebooks are useful for introverts trying to hide in the blank pages of their journals as people try to ask them questions. Not to mention that some can be used as school supplies! I never leave home without a notebook, so that way I always can look like I'm writing something important down.

12. Sticky Notes and Other Office Supplies

For the organized introverts, we love sticky notes, pens, pencils, and all other office supplies things. It all helps us get more and more organized and gives us every right to be artsy with our planners. Stickers are also great for planners, just so you know.

13. Gift Cards

These are great because we get to go pick out our gifts for ourselves. The only downside is we have to go deal with people outside, but that's okay because we don't mind a little bit of interaction! Plus, gift cards can cover music, games, movies, books, journals, and so much more!

14. Phone Case, Laptop Case, e-Reader Case

Introverts who are stuck at parties are going to stay pretty absorbed in their cell phone. Why not get them a super cool case to go on it? This will give them something to smile at when they look at their phone and also be a cool conversation starter so we don't have to worry about small talk.

15. Roku Stick

For the binge-watching introvert, this handy little device gives you access to Netflix, Pandora, Amazon Video, and so much more. It lets you watch them all on your TV which gives you a bigger screen than your laptop to watch NCIS or Fuller House on.

16. Cooking Materials/Equipment

Some introverts like to keep to themselves and recharge by cooking or baking. Why not give them the necessary supplies for doing so? Crock-Pots, Waffle Irons, and even just knives can be a great gift for your cooking introvert. If you want to go the food way, buy them the materials to bake a cake or some other delicious meal.

17. Bath Bombs

If your introvert enjoys recharging by taking a long bath, look into buying them some bath bombs or bath salts! They will enjoy the more rejuvenating bath and it'll make the water look really cool after a few minutes.

And there you have it! 17 ideas to get you started when buying presents for introverts. If you still really don't know what to get them, don't be afraid to ask. Again, we're not anti-social, we just need some us time every once in a while. Happy gift-giving, everyone!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
