17 Best Christmas Season Dates

Now that Thanksgiving is officially checked off the list for the year, it is time to move on to our next holiday. Our household is already putting up our tree, and it is literally the day after Thanksgiving. To help get your mindset into the Chrstmas spirit, here are a few date ideas to do with your lover starting now.

1. Hang Christmas lights

One of the best parts about Christmas is all the colors involved. Grab your ladder and get creative! Try to make the best design on the block with your partner.

2. Hot chocolate and Christmas movies

ABC makes it easy by giving us the glorious 25 Days of Christmas. Make some delicious hot chocolate or coffee and enjoy a relaxing date on the couch.

3. Make a lit Christmas playlist

Considering this will be what you listen to for the next month, it better be good. Put together both of your favorite Christmas songs, and listen to them until you get sick of them.

4. Build a snowman

Time to break out the scarf, hat, and carrot! Get outside and make the world's greatest snowman to ever live, besides Frosty of course.

5. Go skiing/snowboarding

If you are within a reasonable distance, going skiing is another great date. It can be exhilarating and fun if you are up for the challenge.

6. Have a snowball fight

Sometimes the best way to show someone you care about them is by spending time throwing balls of snow at them. Don't forget to make a fort to protect yourself.

7. Make a gingerbread house

Usually these houses taste like garbage, but it can still be fun to decorate them. Definitely a great way to get likes on Instagram as well.

8. Drive to see Christmas lights

Strolling around your town looking at all the pretty lights and decorations is another romantic date. The best is to find the lights that coordinate with music on the radio station.

9. Christmas present shopping

I would say that Christmas is probably the best excuse to drag someone to the mall with you. If you want to be more low-key, maybe this means an internet shopping session.

10. Decorate your own Christmas tree

Find a cute little Christmas tree to claim and have a little imagination by decorating it. You can be even more cheesy (in a good way) by making your own ornaments to go with it.

11. Host a Christmas party together

What better way to spread the spirit than by getting all your closest friends together. Sometimes the best times with your lover can be spend with other people you both care about.

12. Bake Christmas cookies

The best part about this idea is that you get to eat them at the end! Be sure to make them beautiful first and share with your Snapchat friends though.

13. Enter an ugly sweater contest

Ugly sweaters can usually just be found somewhere around the house. Otherwise, go to a thrift store and see what you can both dig up!

14. Go ice skating

This is not advised for people that suck at ice skating since it would not be very romantic. However, if you are both feeling up for it, go hit the ice!

15. Tickets to the Nutcracker

For the couples that like to keep it classy, find the nearest tickets to a Nutcracker show to attend. It is a great source of entertainment and an excuse to get dressed

16. Go on a horse carriage ride

If you town is cool enough to have these, make sure to take advantage of it. However, horses dragging you on wheels is not an option, maybe settle for a walk together downtown.

17. Visit Santa's house regardless of age

My all-time favorite part of Christmas was going to see Santa. It doesn't matter if how old you both are because Santa loves everyone!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
