Goodbye 2016, hello 2017! With a new year comes people making new resolutions. Here are 17 resolutions that you should make for 2017!

1. Reduce stress

Stress is one of the hardest things to get rid of. However, by reducing stress we can ultimately become happier and healthier. Take time out of your day for you and start reducing the amount of stress you have in your life!

2. Get more sleep

TVs, phones, tablets, and laptops have made getting more, quality sleep a difficult task. Before bed, take time to turn these things off. Sleep more and sleep better.

3. Earn and save more money

Whether you are working to pay for college, get out of debt, or save for a big trip, start earning and saving money this year. You'll thank yourself in the end.

4. Gain confidence and take chances

This is one of the hardest things to do. Be more confident in yourself and be willing to take those chances; you never know what you can do until you try. And having confidence in yourself and your abilities is the best way to get there.

5. Meet new people

Along with gaining confidence and taking chances, you can go out and meet new people! Meeting new people opens the doors to so many different friendships and opportunities.

6. Get organized

Learn how to manage your time and schedule and life will be a whole lot easier, and even more stress free! Getting organized can lead to more time for other things, such as beginning healthy habits or having fun with friends.

7. Stop procrastinating

Procrastinating is a hard habit to get rid of. However, if you spend less time procrastinating and more time on getting the things you need to do done you can begin to achieve your goals and have more time for other activities.

8. Get involved-- in the community, at school, in church, anywhere!

Stop being an outsider-- get involved! Find a new group or club to get involved in. Put yourself out there in the community. This way you can make friends and become more well known in your area.

9. Prioritize what's important

Spend more time on what is important and less time on what isn't. This can help you become more organized and may help in reducing stress.

10. Go out with friends

Everybody needs a break sometimes! Whether it's to a local coffee shop or a Friday night out in town, be sure to spend time going out with friends. You'll thank yourself later.

11. Spend time exploring

Find new places to see and new experiences to have this year. Get out and explore new things in your state or throughout the world.

12. Read more

Find time to relax and enjoy a good book-- you can never go wrong with John Grisham or Nicholas Sparks!

13. Make time for family

Family is always there for you, no matter what. Be sure to make time for your family in this new year, even if it's just a day out of each month.

14. Be healthy

Start eating healthier, work out, and have a healthy lifestyle. Doing this will give you so much more energy and self confidence. Focus less on losing weight and more on just being healthy this new year.

15. Be happy

Nobody likes a downer. Spend time this year being happy and doing things that you enjoy. Your happiness will radiate out to others, too!

16. Stay focused on goals

Whatever goals you ultimately set for the new year, be sure to stay focused on them. The more you work towards achieving your goals each day, the more likely they are to become daily habits.

17. Have lots of fun!

In 2017, be sure to have lots of fun. Relax, work towards your goals, and enjoy the new year. Hello, 2017!

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
