Frequent flyers, you might be familiar with what it is like to get stuck in the airport. You are familiar with the rustle of others getting on their flights; the rustle of other people laughing all excited that they get to go on time. But you, yes you, you are stuck waiting for your plane to take off for another five hours because it was cancelled. And you don't know what to do. You just wait. You might decide to pick your nails or even your nose for a little, but that isn't getting you far because you are still not on your flight. You are still waiting impatiently. Therefore, your agony from waiting continues in hopes you will get on an earlier flight; you hope that time will pass by just a bit faster. Trust me, I have been in your shoes and here are a few suggestions of what to do when you are stuck in the airport.

1. Just Panic

As much as you want to panic and cry your heart out near an airport window, don't. As frustrating as missing your flight or having a flight cancellation might be, there are always options.

2. Pick your nose

If you got nothing better to do, why not. Just joking that is gross and unhygienic.

3. Draw faces on your hands

Make friends with lefty and righty. See, they make a awfully good looking couple.

4. Draw a pretty picture

If you are artistic or not, drawing can take up a lot of time. Therefore, always bring a coloring pencil or drawing tool with you at all times.

5. If your flight was cancelled or rebooked to another time, airlines are flexible

If your flight was cancelled or rebooked to another time, airlines have the ability to put you on a flight that works best for you. Recently, I was flying from San Diego to New York and my flight was delayed eight hours. I was placed on a redeye. But I argued with the manager to change my flight. The airline then decided to put me on a flight with a layover and they gave me a hotel overnight, which was more convenient for me. Therefore, don't give up. Airlines are willing to work with you.

6. You just have to be strong willed

Use your adult language and demand a flight that works best for you. You are paying a substantial amount of money to fly. While it might not be entirely the airline's fault for a flight change, possibly due to bad weather, you still have the right to argue to be on a flight that works best for your busy schedule.

7. Just don't curse out the people at the airport

I highly discourage using foul language when you are frustrated at the airport. There are other ways to get your word across. You don't want to deal with security. You just want to be on a flight. So stay calm, but be strong willed.

8. Airlines give free meals if you are stuck in the airport

If your flight was changed and you are stuck in the airport for five hours, go to the front desk. Most of the time, if you say you are stuck in the airport, confirm a flight change and possibly say you are a poor, college student, they will give you a voucher to free food. And what is better than free food?

9. Sometimes airlines give out vouchers to more flights

Airlines can give hundreds of dollars to you if your flight was changed. They want you to continue flying their airline so stick around a little. You might even earn yourself a free flight or two.

10. Sleeping on the chairs are not comfy

If you are stuck in an airport over night like I was, sleep on the floor. Most of the time, airport chairs have metal handle bars and you don't want to be leaning on them overnight. You will wake up with lots of back pain like I did. And as much as I like to complain, the best thing to do is go to one of the help desks and ask them if they are aware of any empty, safe spaces to sleep.

11. Don't sleep near strangers

You most likely don't know these people in the airport. Better to be safe than sorry.

12. Keep your bags next to you when you sleep

If you are falling asleep, even if it is away from other people, you don't want people stealing your things overnight. Therefore, keep your purses near you and maybe even sleep on your bag.

13. Play some music

If you are a musician, this is your time to shin and make some extra cash.

14. Go get your nails done

If you are so bored and are willing to spend a little extra money, go get your nails done.

15. Spend a long time getting stuck in airport security

Anyone with braces, this is not fun.

16. Ride the Escalators

They are so much fun!

Getting stuck at the airport is stressful. But try to relax. There is always a solution to fix your airport dilemmas.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
