Am I done yet?

This semester has blessed me with paper after paper. It's the fourth week of school and I've already written 5 papers, which is more than some people do in a semester. Despite being a political science major, writing essays and research papers are not fun. I've gotten pretty good at it and I'm a really quick writer. Even though writing comes pretty easy to me, I still have to complain about it. These are my thoughts while writing papers.

1. Wait, how long does this have to be?

2. What am I even writing about?

3. This makes no sense.

4. What even is my thesis?

5. How many words/pages am I at now?

6. How can I make this longer without the professor thinking I'm just adding fluff to fit the page requirements?

7. Does this fancy adjective make me look intelligent or just pretentious?

8. Am I done yet?

9. I have no idea what I'm talking about but at least there's something on the page, right?

10. How much of my grade is this paper worth?

11. You know when you've been writing too long and you just forget how basic English grammar works.

12. I deserve a break.

13. Haha this paper is due in two days and I've barely started.

14. Okay time to attack this paper. I can do this.

15. Am I done? I think I'm done.

16. How on earth do you write a conclusion that's not boring?

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
