To My Sister,

Congratulations! You've done it — you have officially graduated high school! I can't believe how fast time went. You're now off to college, ready to start the rest of your life after high school. It's crazy to think about, but I am so excited to see where life takes you in the future. That being said, there are just a few things I want to make sure you're aware of as you start this next chapter of your life:

1. You are the most beautiful person, both inside and out.

Don't let anyone ever make you believe otherwise. Never forget how unique you are.

2. Your beauty is unparalleled.

Seriously.

3. It has truly been an honor to watch you grow into the most amazing young woman.

Although it happened so fast, you are the type of person who makes everyone proud to know you.

4. You are the type of friend everyone should be.

You are caring, selfless and thoughtful, proving time and time again that you are the best friend anyone could ever hope for. Make sure your friends appreciate you because they could never find anyone better.

5. You radiate warmth and happiness.

You make everyone around you instantly smile.

6. All your hard work has paid off.

All those hours of studying, stupid group projects and annoying teachers are done with (at least for a few months) — now you have a diploma!

7. I couldn't be any more grateful to have you as a sister.

I couldn't have been blessed with a more wonderful person to be my sister.

8. You are the coolest sister and the greatest best friend.

I am lucky enough to not only have you as a sister but as my best friend as well. Not everyone can say that about their siblings, so I feel even more fortunate to have you.

9. Thank you for everything you do for me.

Thank you for always scooping ice cream for me and giving me the best advice when I need someone to talk to.

10. I can't wait to see what incredible things you are going to accomplish in the future.

I already know you are going to do big things.

11. I am so proud of you.

I am proud of the person you are.

12. I know it seems scary now, but college will be better than you expect.

Change always seems awful at first, but soon enough you'll adapt to college life and find that you actually enjoy it.

13. The people who are meant to stay in your life aren't going anywhere.

I know it's really tough to say goodbye to your friends at the end of the summer as they go away to school, but you'll be reunited before you know it. If your friends are meant to be your friends forever, a few months away won't change anything at all.

14. I can't wait to be by your side as you begin your college career.

It's an exciting time and I can't wait to see what is coming next for you.

15. I'm always here if you need anything at all.

I hope you already know this, but I mean it.

16. I love you.

I love you so much and I am truly so proud of you.

Congratulations again!

All my love,

Your Sister

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
