If there's anything I've learned from working in athletics, it's that the people are one of a kind. Regardless of the constant sacrifices, demanding schedules, and various responsibilities, we have the most rewarding job in the world. Working in the world of sports provides an environment like no other. Here are 16 things that everyone who works in athletics understands.

1. Being persistent is a must and if you aren't you must train yourself to be

The person who took no as an answer probably didn't get too far.

2. You need to take a job anywhere you can get one

Even if it's for a team across the country.

3. The claim that you "need to work in sales first" is a myth.

If you work hard and dream big, you can achieve your dreams faster than you'd think.

4. You need to set aside being a fan and reacting, but it's so worth it to do what you love

Even though it can be hard not to freak out when your team wins, concealing your reactions is so worth it because you get to return to the job you love every day.

5. You realize that there is so much that goes on behind the scenes that contribute to a team's success

The team and coaching staff aren't the only ones who contribute to a big win.

6. You have a full heart and a burning passion for what you do

They weren't lying when they said clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.

7. You may be biased, but you have the most rewarding job in the world

Seeing all of your work translate into reality on game day is the best feeling.

8. No work environment compares to yours on a game day

The most hectic, yet electric experience.

9. You will most likely be denied many times before someone gives you a chance, but when you finally get one it'll be worth the wait

Getting a foot in the door can be tough, but once you do, it's only up from there.

10. Everybody around you is just as driven as yourself which makes for a very productive work environment

Everyone is trying to prove themselves and everyone has a passion for the industry.

11. You are always up for a challenge

A lot of it stems from being a previous athlete.

12. You can relive your glory days as an athlete vicariously

You always low key pretend you're one of the athletes.

13. It is a COMPETITIVE field

And competitive is an understatement.

14. When it comes to dating, you need to be with someone who is very understanding

If you find someone who is understanding of your crazy schedule, marry them.

15. Time management is life

If you have other priorities on top of work, time management is a must.

16. Holidays? Breaks? What are those?

Sacrifices are a real thing.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
