As a kid with glasses, I always dreamed of the day I would get contacts. Having contacts for 6 years, I've learned that they can be the biggest nuisance. Whether it's drying up, falling out or rolling to the back of my eye, they seem to act up at the worst possible moments. If you wear contacts, you definitely know this to be true...
1. When you're at a sleepover and you forgot to bring your solution and case.
2. Tearing up out of nowhere.
"Oh my god, are you okay? Why are you crying?!"
"Chill, it's just my contacts."
3. People not understanding the importance of saline solution.
"Shit, I ran out of solution. What am I going to do with my contacts?"
"Can't you just put them in regular water?"
Um, no.
4. You can't open your eyes under water.
Sorry to kill your romantic fantasies.
5. Frantic blinking.
6. Constant rubbing.
7. The panic when you think you lost your contact, but it actually just rolled up to the back of your eye.
8. People thinking you're winking at them, but you're really just fixing your lens.
9. People constantly thinking you're high when your eyes get red.
But if you're actually high you can blame it on your contacts I guess.
10. Your eyes get dry at the worst times.
When you're sitting in the back of a lecture hall and your professor's handwriting is microscopic, OF COURSE, your contacts start giving you a problem.
11. People being grossed out when you take out your contacts.
12. Having to fix your lens in public.
More often than not at the most inconvenient time.
