If you are a server, or have been a server, you know that many of the guests that come in can push you to the point of quitting. Whether it is lousy tippers, needy guests, or the complaints for a free meal, all servers can relate to the love-hate relationship that comes with their job.
1. When you get a large party and they all want to pay separately
2. When the guest does not make eye contact with you for the whole meal
3. When you are introducing yourself and the guest interrupts you with their drink order
4. When people come in five minutes before closing
5. When you're in the weeds (super busy) and you are told to food run
6. When you ask a guest if they are okay, and they say they are good, but you see them talking to the manager a minute later
7. When the kitchen gets an order wrong and the guest yells at you for it
8.When you get a phone number as a tip
9. When the guest is complimenting you the entire time and leaves you a horrible tip
10. When a guest says they are ready to order but has you stand there for another half hour while they decide
11. When the guests have been finished eating for an hour and are still camping out at your table
12. When the guest tells you it's their birthday and you just think about having to sing happy birthday
13. Fake laughing at the guest’s horrible jokes because you want a good tip
14. When the guest asks for something that has not been on the menu for three years
15. When thinking about drinking with your coworkers after your shift is your motivation
16. When you found out you broke a bill at the end of your shift and it makes it all worth it
