16 Struggles Every Impatient Person Can Relate To

Oh, those long lines and chatty people.

I have many mantras, and I follow almost every single one of them. "Be Fearless," "You Can't Control the Waves but You Can Learn How To Surf," and "Hakuna Matata". But never have I ever lived by the "be patient" mantra. It drives me insane! Yes, I will wait, but not patiently. Here are the struggles every impatient person goes through:

1. Lines.

Whether you are waiting to pay for something or waiting to get on a bus, waiting in lines drives you insane.

2. When cashiers talk to you.

And they make the process slower! Can you just tell me how much do I owe?

3. Commercials.

I already know that Papa Johns has a promotion this week, please don't remind me every 10 minutes. This is why we love Netflix, no commercials or unnecessary adds.

4. Slow people on the street.

Oh, damn tourist and people who will take forever to walk on the street. You have to hold yourself back from punching them or screaming at them.

5. Fast food lines.

It's called fast food for a reason, so don't make me wait more than 20 minutes between the moment I came in and the moment you give me my slice of pizza!

6. Waiting for an email or text.

Please just answer!

7. When the food takes forever to arrive.

And all you are eating is bread with butter. You even finished your second refill by the time your appetizer arrives.

8. Flight delays.

just don't.

9. Calling your phone/internet provider.

"Miss Margulis, can you turn the device off/on? Oh, that didn't work? Please hold on while we fix the problem" And that's how an hour goes by.

10. Waiting another week for your TV show to be released.

Wouldn't it be magical if we could just watch the entire season in one sitting?

11. Helping someone use a new device.

and this is how friendships end.

12. Waiting a year for the next season to be released

C'mon Orange is The New Black! Come out faster!

13. When your professor takes forever to grade your test or essay.

14. Waiting for your book, planner or DVD to arrive.

or anything you purchased online.

15. Boiling water

those 5 minutes you have to wait before you can put your pasta / quinoa/ rice in. Let's just take a minute and thank G-d for creating instant food that doesn't taste as good, but takes less time to make!

16. When people are late

Seriously, when you tell me you want to meet at 7:00, I expect you to meet me at 7:00. It's 7:10 and I already thought about every single thing LiLo has done in her life. EVERY.SINGLE.THING!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
