16 Things People From Carmel, Indiana Know Beyond A Doubt

Not only was Carmel, Ind. the best place to grow up, it will always be where I call my home. No matter what, I will always be proud to say that I'm from this place. There are many things that make Carmel what it is. I know my fellow Carmelites will understand the following...

1. Welcome to the city of roundabouts, Carmel, Ind. Carmel has more roundabouts than any other city in the United States.

2. No need for a gym membership when you have the Monon Trail, the 18.1-mile long trail that is used daily by bikers, walker, runners, rollerbladers, etc.

3. You grew up going to Bub's Burgers, Home of the Big Ugly Burger, with family and friends.

4. In your spare time, you would go to Citgo/Valero to get slushies, quenching the cravings for less than a dollar.

5. You're never alone in downtown Carmel due to the abundant realistic statues.

6. You went to the largest high school in the state, Carmel High School, home of the Greyhounds.

7. You're always safe because there are cops on every corner.

8. Goodwill finds are not too shabby, often with tags still on them.

9. The rivalry between West siders and East siders is pretty intense.

10. Directions are easy, "I live 146th/136th/126th in..."

11. Your artwork might have been showed in the World's Smallest Children's Art Gallery.

12. Don't be fooled by the Foolery that's currently in Downtown Carmel, it will never be the same as the original Foolery.

13. When you say, "I am from Carmel, Ind." you prepare yourself for what comments you are going to get.

14. There will always be construction.

15. The Kroger has live music, a restaurant, a sushi train, a Cake Bake Shop, a bistro, and many more sections.

16. Money Magazine ranked Carmel, Ind. the #1 best place to live. [Drops mic.]

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
