16 Signs Your Best Friend Is Your Soulmate

It's weird how friendships start off. The oddest things spark the fire between you both and you suddenly become inseparable, sharing almost everything with each other. Nothing fazes the both of you, not even the insulting jokes you throw at each other. But how do you know if your best friend is your soulmate?

1. Your friendship proves long distance relationships work.

Whether it is the summer vacation abroad or going to schools on different sides of the country, your friendship weathers through all these storms and stays stronger than ever.

2. No matter the time difference, they're always ready to FaceTime.

You know its real when you can call them at odd hours and you don't have to bother with the time because they'll always answer no matter the time difference, even if it is just to show you what their bath bomb looks like or watch a scary movie scene together.

3. You still manage to go shopping together.

No one likes going shopping alone, whether it be grocery shopping or clothes shopping. So taking that long drive to fashion island or going to Target for Cheetos is a tad bit easier with your other half on FaceTime.

4. You think the same way.

You both say the same things at the same time way too often you don't even bother saying "jinx" anymore.

5. You're both always in sync.

You not only think the same way, but you both do and say the same things, often times at the same time. And this is the only explanation you have for it.

6. You love and hate the same things.

There's no one else that understands your love for your Cheetos and your sour cream donuts, nor your hate for dark chocolate and your coworker.

7. You often question if you were both separated at birth.

How else would you explain the same thoughts and feelings about the same things at the same time?

8. They're the only person who knows every embarrassing story you have.

They're the only one you can tell your embarrassing pee stories too. Though they might never let you forget it and also bring it up at inappropriate times, you can't help sharing these memories with them knowing they will now haunt you for the rest of your lives.

9. Every small thing reminds you of the them.

Walking into Dunkin' Donuts and spotting their sour cream donuts always to reminds you of your best friend, so you go in, grab two and meet them to spend more time together doing your favorite thing, eating!

10. You plan your future together.

When you're both convinced you're going to spend the rest of your life as an unmarried woman with 22 cats, you make a pact to get a nose job, then live together in a cute apartment, baking brownies.

12. They aren't afraid to be brutally honest.

While you're crushing on someone and find everything they do charming, your best friend helps save the day by giving you a reality check. They're the only ones that tell you your hair is a mess and that boy is really not worth your time.

13. You don't laugh as hard as you do with anyone else.

Everything is funnier when you and your best friend are talking about it. Whether it be about the presidential election or throwing insulting comments at each other, nothing makes you laugh so hard you feel your abs slowly forming.

14. You're both convinced you guys should have your own stand up show.

You're both 100 percent sure you guys would be better at stand up comedy than Kevin Hart and Rob Delaney combined.

15. They always encourage you to be the best.

Who else would rather have you give a speech than a presidential candidate? In the end, they're your biggest supporter and #1 fan!

16. They're the only one that understands and accepts you for who you are.

Even with your dyslexia and short term memory loss, they still accept you for who you are. You go on long drives on FaceTime with them so they don't have to do it alone, and they listen to you vent about the classmate you can't stand.

They're always there for you for everything, and if you are across the country, you find a way to go through adventures together because it's always worth it.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
