It's official. I have traded in my days of childhood for the harsh reality that is adulthood. However, no one told me how crazy this would be until I was drowning in adult life. So, if you are on the verge of adulting, here are a few signs to let you know that you truly made it.

1. You finally got your own place!

No more living with your parent's or staying cramped in a college dorm room!

2. But now you're starting to pay your own bills.

Who knew that living was so expensive? How are my parents not living in a cardboard box by now?

3. And you have to cook for yourself...

The menu includes Ramen, frozen pizza, or cereal.

4. You're also responsible for cleaning your house.

Mom made all of this look so easy!

5. And laundry is all on you...

So many choices of laundry soap. So many different settings. Do I have to sort my lights from my darks? Eh, I'll just buy more clothes.

6. You have to call and set up all doctors appointments...

What if they ask me something I don't know the answer to and I sound stupid and they know I'm not cut out for this?

7. And you have to remember, and go to them.

"Please don't tell my mom."

8. You have to start filing taxes.

Where do I even start...?

9. And don't forget about buying groceries and other necessities that your mom always magically restocked.

Probably buying all unhealthy items, but at least I am saving money.

10. Your paychecks seem to get smaller & smaller...

I don't even check my bank account anymore when I go out. I just hope for the best.

11. Long gone are the days you could just ignore responsibilities.

Now, I have to tackle my problems head on.

12. You don't feel old enough to be an adult.

Seriously, I'm not old enough for this.

13. You start to leave events/parties early because you have a big kid job that doesn't mess around.

Bed time starts coming earlier and earlier...

14. Some days you're driven and determined...

My to do list doesn't stand a chance!

15. Other days you feel like you're a complete failure at life...

I'm calling it quits on the adult life...

16. But you wouldn't change being a grown up for anything because deep down it is kind of cool.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
