1. It takes you five hours to clean your room because you are dancing to music to make cleaning more enjoyable.

2. Any major boom or clap in a song makes you think of a basket toss.

3. You rush into any sorority or college event that includes dancing.

4. You still attempt to stunt at the pool or the beach.

5. Accidentally getting elbowed in the face, or falling on the ground, reminds you of the good ole days.

6. Watching your university's cheer squad makes you sad and nostalgic.

7. Being on the other side of the fence at football games is heartbreaking.

8. You are still finding glitter on you from 2010.

9. You find it weird if a friend tells you they don't use hairspray.

10. Seeing pictures of the current team from your high school at nationals makes you want to relive every second of your time on the mat.

11. You know how to do your make-up like a pro. And you get super excited when any activity calls for you to cake it on.

12. You want to get your toe-touches back up to par even though there' is no need for it.

13. Every time you have wrist or back pain you automatically think of the stunts that caused it. 

14. You still fight back when someone says competition cheerleading is not a sport.

15. Someone yelling at you just makes you want to work harder.

16. You will forever remember your second mom and second family, as well as what they taught you.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
