This past week, it was announced that in her infinite and almighty wisdom, (Queen) J.K. Rowling will be publishing the script for her upcoming play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, on July 31, 2016. This is not a drill. Though it was clearly pointed out that this will not be another novel, it is pretty much the eighth installment in the Harry Potter saga. Again, this is real life! This is not a drill, people! As a true lover of the Harry Potter series and all things related to the wizarding world, to say that I am excited would be an understatement. The first seven books in the series were an integral part of my childhood and I have read and re-read them hundreds of times. Yes, there is a strong possibility that I will wait in line in some sort of costume for the book's midnight release. I am not alone in my devotion to the series, however. I know my fellow Potterheads are just as stoked as I am. Here is a storyline of my reactions, which may not be so different from yours.

1. When I first found out the play is going to be shown in London, but I'm too poor to go all the way across the pond...

2. So I just accepted that I'd be missing out on this new piece of my soul.

3. But then, the magical news arrived on my Twitter feed.

4. I danced in celebration...

5. And I cheered.

6. I was more excited than Dean Thomas at a quidditch match.

7. Immediately, I shared the news with my friends.

8. They shared my enthusiasm.

9. We even shared our celebration with the Slytherins...

10. But some people didn't understand my exuberance.

11. Others are infuriatingly saying, "It's just the script, it's not officially an eighth book."

12. Some are calling it a prequel...

13. Which it's not. It's set 19 years later.

14. Seriously, learn the definition of the word. (Emphasis on the "pre" part).

15. However, nothing can take away the joy of what we've waited for so long...

16. Because there are only 5 more months until we celebrate Harry's birthday with new adventures.
