As a college student in my third year, I have come to the realization that adulthood is very near. This means no more bopping around and being a child. This means trying to get your life together to better yourself as a person in preparation for the real world. Emphasis on the trying. By “trying” I mean telling yourself something which is usually a lie to make yourself think that you’re being productive. In honor of me attempting to get my life together, here are some lies that I’ve told myself (and lies you've definitely told yourself).
- I’m going to the gym today
- I’m gonna do my homework in a timely fashion
- Another slice of pizza won’t hurt
- I think I’ll stay in tonight; I don’t need a party to have fun
- I’m gonna start eating super healthy
- Procrastination is really my downfall; I’ll stop waiting till the last minute to do everything
- I’m going to bed early tonight
- Just one more episode
- After last night, I’m never drinking again
- 10. I’m gonna stop online shopping so much
- 11. Maybe I’ll start saving my money
- 12. Boys are so dumb! I’m never texting him again!
- 13. I’m gonna take a break from social media. I don’t need it to survive
- 14. I’ll definitely do all my laundry today
- 15. I’ll shave my legs in the shower for sure
- 16. Tinder is so stupid, I’d never download it
