16 Inspirational Quotes To Remember When Life Gets You Down

Life is an unpredictable roller coaster filled with twists and turns, highs and lows, and bumps of all sizes. Despite its messy and imperfect nature, life is a beautiful gift. Often times, life's relentless spontaneity becomes overwhelming and distressing, but sometimes being locked in a rigid routine is as antagonizing as waiting for life's next curveball. There are some days so draining that they seem endless, and others so hectic they vanish in the blink of an eye. Whatever it is that is weighing you down or stressing you out, pause for a moment to soak up some inspirational vibes and remember that you are never alone in your journey.

1. "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." -Thomas A. Edison

I couldn't have said it better myself. Every failed attempt you make in life gets you one step closer to success, which is pretty incredible to ponder.

2. "I am not a has-been. I am a will be." -Lauren Bacall

That's right! There is certainly no expiration date on your goals or dreams, so why let anyone tell you otherwise?

3. "Nothing can dim the light that shines from within." -Maya Angelou

There is light inside of everyone that shines through the soul and illuminates the world. It exists even in the darkest of times.

4. "The best way to predict the future is to create it." -Peter Drucker

Now that's pretty motivational! Isn't it incredible that you hold so much potential inside of you? What are you waiting for? GO LIVE YOUR DREAMS!

5. "Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles." -Charlie Chaplin

Some problems really do feel like the end of the world, but no pain lasts forever! The world may be cruel and unfair at times, but the struggles are only temporary. As long as you remember that and keep powering ahead, you'll be practically invincible!

6. "If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door." -Milton Berle

You were destined for great things, so why sit around and wait for life to happen? Get out there and rock this world!

7. "Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines." -Robert H. Schuller

You are a FIGHTER, and nothing can stop you from tackling your goals and overcoming your problems. Bumps in the road aren't meant to slow you down. They are there to help you adjust your path and keep powering ahead.

8. "Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect." -Zoey Sayward

Waiting around will do you no good when you've got a full life to live and goals to achieve. Some things will always be out of your control, and some days will simply be rough, but you have the power to turn any situation around and use it to your advantage!

9. "You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it." -Unknown

You may encounter some very trying obstacles in your life, but you were made for this. No one could handle your life quite like you can, which is why you have got to live it to its full potential every single day.

10. "Don't call it a dream. Call it a plan." -Unknown

Dreams are wonderful and all, but they can be made even better when you put those bad boys into action! Let it start as a dream, but then make it grow into a reality.

11. "Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward." -Victor Kiam

Perhaps this one isn't quite as motivating to some of you, but I think it's great! Even if you trip and fall down once in a while, you are still making progress, so don't be discouraged!

12. "F.E.A.R. has two meanings- Forget Everything And Run, or Face Everything And Rise. The choice is yours." -Zig Ziglar

It's okay to be scared sometimes, but instead of shutting down every time you feel afraid, use that energy to fight back. Stand up for yourself, look your fears in the face and say, "It's game time." With every ounce of strength you build up, your fears shrink down in size until they lose their scariness. I know it isn't easy, but it is possible. You have the power to conquer any of your greatest fears, but first you must take that initial step and decide to do so.

13. "As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better." -Steve Maraboli

Life has a funny way of closing a door, then opening a window. Don't let rejection set you back or keep you from pursuing your goals. Sometimes, rejection is the absolute best thing that can happen to us, because it does not mean losing. Sure, you may initially feel a little emptiness from your setback, but it is important to remember that there is something much greater waiting around the corner, and now you have room to add it into your life.

14. "Sometimes things fall apart so that better things can fall together." -Marilyn Monroe

Life may not pan out like you expected it to, but that doesn't mean the world is coming to an end. Perhaps this sudden shift is just the universe's way of getting rid of dead weight in your life and preparing to send you something better.

15. "Before Alice got to Wonderland, she had to fall pretty hard down a deep hole." -Unknown

Life can be random and unfair at times, but that doesn't mean there isn't a light at the end of the tunnel! Sometimes you've just to brave the storm in order to see the rainbow.

16. "Stars can't shine without darkness." -D.H. Sidebottom

You can't truly appreciate success without first understanding the feeling of failure. Still, every failure you may face can be viewed as a small victory because it leads you one step closer to fulfilling your goals and conquering your dreams. So, next time life gets a little dreary, remember that it takes darkness to produce the most radiant light.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
