16 Grey's Anatomy Quotes That Were Too Deep To Handle

Since it first aired in 2005 and up until now, "Grey’s Anatomy" has managed to hook many faithful viewers. I feel that this TV series' vast success can be accredited to its incredible cast of characters. Aside from being super hot, the cast of "Grey's" is also, in my opinion, the most relatable television cast of all time. We love, laugh and cry with them. We become a part of the Seattle Grace family. Personally, I find the episodes to be therapeutic and am always more than down for a "Grey’s" marathon. Through my frequent and probably slightly unhealthy binge watching of the series, I have come to discover my favorite parts of the entire series to be the opening and closing statements usually spoken by Meredith Grey. I cannot tell you how many times I have found myself in deep thoughts about life after an episode of "Grey's Anatomy." There is something about these quotes that I feel resonates with the majority of individuals on so many levels. As a result, I've compiled a list of 16 "Grey’s Anatomy" quotes that more than likely put you in deep thought.

1. "We’re all damaged. It seems some of us more than others. We carry the damage with us from childhood and as grown-ups, we give as good as we get. Ultimately, we all do damage, and then we set about the business of fixing whatever we can." –Meredith Grey, "Damage Case" (2.24)

2. "Communication: It’s the first thing we really learn in life. Funny thing is, once we grow up, learn our words and really start talking, the harder it gets to know what to say or how to ask what we really need." –Meredith Grey, "Something to Talk About" (2.7)

3. "There comes a point in your life when you’re officially an adult. Suddenly you’re old enough to vote, drink and engage in other adult activities. Suddenly people expect you to be responsible, serious, a grown-up. We get taller, we get older, but do we ever really grow up?" –Meredith Grey, "Forever Young" (4.8)

4. "We’ve all heard the warnings, and we’ve ignored them. We push our luck. We roll the dice. It’s human nature. When we’re told not to touch something, we usually do even if we know better. Maybe because, deep down, we’re just asking for trouble." –Meredith Grey, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (8.18)

5. "You can seek the advice of others, surround yourself with trusted advisers, but in the end, the decision is always yours and yours alone. And when it’s time to act and you’re all alone with your back against the wall, the only voice that matters is the one in your head. The one telling you what you probably already knew. The one that’s almost always right." –Meredith Grey, "If Only You Were Lonely" (8.16)

6. "Maybe we like the pain. Maybe we’re wired that way 'cause without it, I don’t know, maybe we just wouldn’t feel real. What’s that saying, why do I keep hitting myself with a hammer? Because it feels so good when I stop." –Meredith Grey, "The Self-Destruct Button" (1.7)

7. "Responsibility. It really does suck. Unfortunately, once you get past the age of braces and training bras, responsibility doesn’t go away. It can’t be avoided. Either someone makes us face it or we suffer the consequences. And still adulthood has it’s purpose. I mean the shoes, the sex, the no parents anywhere telling you what to do, that’s pretty damn good." –Meredith Grey, "Shake Your Groove Thing" (1.5)

8. "We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin meant. That knowing is better than wondering. That waking is better than sleeping. And that even the biggest failure, even the worst, most intractable mistake beats the hell out of never trying." –Meredith Grey, "Tomorrow Never Comes" (1.6)

9. "At the end of the day, there are some things you just can't help but talk about. Some things we just don’t want to hear and some things we say because we can't be silent anymore. Some things are more than what you say. They’re what you do. Some things you say because there’re no other choices. Some things you keep to yourself, and not too often but every now and then, some things simply speak for themselves." –Meredith Grey, "Something to Talk About" (2.7)

10. "Pain: You just have to ride it out. Hope it goes away on its own. Hope the wound heals on its own. There are no solutions, no easy answers. You just breathe deep and wait for it to subside. Most of the time pain can be managed, but sometimes the pain gets you when you least expect it. It’s way below the belt and doesn’t let up. Pain. You just have to fight through because the truth is you can't outrun it... And life just makes more." –Meredith Grey, "Bring the Pain" (2.5)

11. "You close your eyes, and you have complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming…they were so close, you could taste them, but eventually, you grow up one day. You open your eyes, and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is, it’s hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely because most people have faith that, one day, they will open their eyes, and it will all come true." –Meredith Grey, "Save Me" (1.8)

12. "Forgive and forget. That’s what they say. It’s good advice, but it’s not very practical. When someone hurts us, we want to hurt them back. When someone wrongs us, we want to be right. Without forgiveness, old scores are never settled. Old wounds never heal, and the most we can hope for is that, one day, we’ll be lucky enough to forget." –Meredith Grey, "The Heart of the Matter" (4.4)

13. "We spend our whole lives worrying about the future, planning the future, trying to predict the future. As if figuring it out will somehow cushion the blow, but the future is always changing. The future is the whole of our deepest fears and our wildest hopes, but one thing is certain: When it finally reveals itself, the future is never the way we imagined it." –Meredith Grey, "Here's to the Future Days" (5.22)

14. "What’s worse? New wounds, which are so horribly painful, or old wounds that should have healed years ago and never did? Maybe our old wounds teach us something. They remind us where we’ve been and what we’ve overcome. They teach us lessons about what to avoid in the future. That’s what we like to think, but that’s not the way it is, is it? Some things we just have to learn over and over and over again." –Meredith Grey, "Scars and Souvenirs" (3.18)

15. "I remember in school someone telling me I came from a broken home. That’s what they used to call it when your parents got divorced. Even though getting divorced was the least broken thing they ever did. When I heard that as a kid, I wondered if broken homes were where the broken people lived. It was silly. I was just a little kid, but to this day, I still wonder." –Meredith Grey, "You're My Home" (11.24)

16. "They say death is hardest on the living. It’s tough to actually say goodbye. Sometimes it’s impossible. You never really stop feeling the loss. It’s what makes things so bittersweet. We leave little bits of ourselves behind, little reminders. A lifetime of memories, photos, trinkets. Things to remember us by even when we're gone." –Meredith Grey, "Going, Going, Gone" (9.1)

I think it is safe to say this medical drama hits the emotional nail right on the head almost every time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
