Sometimes being single can be tough, especially when you're constantly surrounded by happy couples. I'm basically the only single person in my friend group and believe me, it can suck being the odd one out. However, even though being single has its drawbacks, there are still tons of reasons why riding solo is great. So whether you just got out of a relationship and you're fairly new to this single game, you've been a one-man show for a long time, or you're currently in a miserable relationship and wanting more reasons to leave it...listen up, because here are some reasons and reminders of why the single life is the way to go.

1. You can watch Netflix freely without arguing with someone over what to watch.

2. You can eat an entire pizza by yourself without having to share it with anyone.

3. You have more time for your friends.

4. You can check other people out as much as you want.

5. You have more money to spend on yourself.

6. You don't have to pretend you like any significant other's friends.

7. You don't have to figure out who's family you're spending a holiday with.

8. You have the entire bed to yourself.

9. You don't have to listen to anyone snoring in your ear the entire night.

10. You can hang out and talk to whoever you want without a significant other getting mad.

11. You don't have to offer anyone the last slice of cake because it's all yours.

12. You don't have to worry about looking good for anyone but yourself.

13. You have more free time to go to the gym.

14. You have more free time to nap.

15. You have more free time to basically do whatever the heck you want.

16. You can focus on yourself and figure out who you are so that when the right person comes along and changes all of this, you'll be ready.

Embrace the single life. It's all about you. Enjoy being on your own and worry about having a partner when the time is right.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
