New Jersey is an incredibly diverse place, and every section is it's own ecosystem. If you are from north jersey, you have/do these things:
1. You refer to NYC as "the city."
And you and your friends take day trips all of the time.
2. You have many choices of malls to go to, but you have your favorite one.
One mall is where you go for dresses, another for back to school, and another is for the better food.
3. Also, diner food is your comfort food.
There is no other place you would go to eat at 2 am.
4. For long weekends, you go "down the shore."
At least one of your friends has a beach house that has become yours at this point.
5. You can see the New York Skyline from your window.
And you have become kind of numb to it.
6. You're confused why New Jersey is called "The Garden State."
Where are the gardens???
7. You don't relate to the Joisey accent.
And no, you've never met anyone from Jersey Shore.
8. You know what Mischief night is.
And you know that one family that took it a little bit too seriously.
9. You're scared of leaving the state, because you're not quite sure how to pump your own gas.
You prefer to stay inside of your car.
10. Before you leave for a trip, you have a bagel for breakfast.
And you go to your favorite bagel place just down the street.
11. You go to Dunkin Donuts at least once a week.
You definitely roll into class late with a medium carmel iced coffee.
12. It's taylor ham and NOT a pork roll.
What even is a pork roll?
13. If you meet someone else from North Jersey, you probably know someone in common.
You definitely have at least 5 mutual friends on Facebook.
14. You know your way around Newark Airport.
And you have your favorite terminal.
15. Anything south of exit 130 on the parkway is a whole new world.
Is south jersey even the same country?
16. Northern Jersey will always be your home.
You will forever love everything that makes north jersey home.
