So April Fools' Day is this Friday, but most people don't even know how the holiday originated. Some historians speculate that April Fools’ Day dates back to 1582, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, as called for by the Council of Trent in 1563. People who were slow to get the news or failed to recognize that the start of the new year had moved to January 1 and continued to celebrate it during the last week of March through April 1 became the butt of jokes and hoaxes.
So here are some prank suggestions so you can get involved in the holiday festivities!
1. A classic Jim move!
2. Downloading a chrome extension that replaces every image with a picture of Nicholas Cage!
3. Placing plastic bugs in people's lunches!
4. Change keyboard shortcuts!
5. Low key steal someone's sock and sew it half way down the middle!
6. Send your significant other fake pregnancy tests!
7. Kidnap your friend, throw them in your car trunk, and then go for a joy ride!
Don't get too carried away with this one.
8. Pretend to do heroin!
Again, don't get too carried away with this one.
9. Rob a bank dressed as something silly!
10. Go to an area with an active volcano and set a bunch of fires near the top so the locals think it's going off and start a mass evacuation!
11. Offer to drive your friend somewhere, but then just leave them stranded in the middle of nowhere!
12. Announce on social media that you're a Trump supporter!
13. Straight up murder someone!
14. And probably the most over the top April Fools' Day prank:
Full disclaimer: Don't actually do any of these. They're mostly illegal and April Fools' Day is a stupid holiday in general.
