Here are 16 books that are currently planned to be released as movies during this next year. Actors such as Robert Pattinson, Kate Winslet, Matthew McConaughey, and Emma Watson,(just to name a few) are set to star in these bestsellers.

1. "Hidden Figures" by Margot Lee Shetterly

There are a lot of things that come to mind when one thinks of NASA sending a man to the moon–black female mathematicians are not usually one of them. Until now. "Hidden Figures" finally gives credit where it is due in the true untold story about the smart, tough ladies of NASA in the 1960s.

Starring: Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae, and Kevin Costner

2. "Live By Night" by Dennis Lehane

Ben Affleck writes, directs and stars in the thrilling story about a Boston thief who becomes a rum runner in the both glamorous and scandalous 1920s.

Starring: Ben Affleck, Chris Messina, Zoe Saldana and Sienna Miller.

3. "Fifty Shades Darker" by E L James

This NSFW sequel to the "Twilight" spinoff is just as dark and sexy as we hoped it would be. "Fifty Shades of Grey" left off with Anastasia leaving Christian, but in "Fifty Shades Darker," we see he’s not giving up on her without a fight.

4. "The Zookeeper’s Wife" by Diane Ackerman

This true story tells the tale of unsung heroes during World War II. By smuggling people away in animal cages, zookeepers of Poland's Warsaw Zoo managed to save hundreds of people from the grasp of Nazis.

5. "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio

6. "The Lost City of Z" by David Grann

Robert Pattinson is back! But not as a vampire or beloved Hufflepuff. Instead, he'll be co starring in the tale of a famous disappearance. Percy Fawcett, a British explorer, sets out in search of an ancient, fabled city. Deep within the Amazon, swallowed by the jungle canopy, this quest for truth just might be the last thing Percy does.

7. "The Circle" by Dave Eggers

Emma Watson takes on a different kind of role in the chilling story of a Google-like company called "The Circle." Watson plays Mae, an intelligent college graduate who starts to realize this high tech, social media company isn't as transparent as it seems.

8. "The Dark Tower" by Stephen King

After years of negotiations, Stephen King's magnum opus is finally going to hit the big screen. "The Dark Tower" is a series of eight books that are filled with dark fantasy, science fantasy, horror and western themes--the Stephen King special. Matthew McConaughey is set to star in this magical thriller that supposedly connects many other Stephen King stories together.

9. "The Mountain Between" Us by Charles Martin

After all commercial flights have been cancelled, a successful writer and an accomplished surgeon decide to take a charter to a nearby airport. Suddenly, the pilot has a heart attack and both characters, Ben and Ashley are stranded in the wilderness and fighting to survive.

10. "Let it Snow" by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle

Another year, another John Green movie adaptation. The latest will be a holiday-themed anthology that connects three intertwining love stories.

11. "Murder On The Orient Express" by Agatha Christie

Hercule Poirot is a detective put to the test as he tries to solve a murder mystery whilst on a famous train. In this classic mystery, Hercule has only so much time before the train stops and the murderer gets away.

Starring: Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr.

12. "Annihilation" by Jeff Vandermeer

Area X is a mystery to everyone who knows about. Eleven expeditions have ventured out to it in to try and understand what's out there. All have come to fatal conclusions. Now, a botanist is going on the twelfth expedition and her life will be changed forever by this unusual and dangerous place.

13. "The House of Tomorrow" by Peter Bognanni

15. "Thank You For Your Service" by David Finkel

Winner of a Pulitzer Prize, this work of nonfiction revolves around the lives of soldiers who have returned from serving overseas. This collection of stories does not sugarcoat the PTSD, sympathy, and altered way of life soldiers experience once coming home.

16. "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls

This memoir doesn't hold back about what it was like to grow up unconventionally with somewhat bizarre and unexplainable parents.

You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
