1. Your summer job included working with kids.

2. Some of your favorite movies are G-rated.


3. You use phrases like "dag nab it" "crud muffin" and "shoot dang" instead of swearing in regular conversation.


4. If someone offers you a coloring page, you can't say no.

5. You get overly defensive when people question your choice of profession based on pay.

6. You interact better with kids than adults (or at least you think you do).

7. Education reform is near the top of your list of issues to look for in a politician.


8. You get excited when you see groups of kids on field trips walking around campus.

9. Planning your future classroom is more exciting than planning your wedding.

10. You geek out about learning. Because LEARNING!


11. Half your posts on Instagram include #ftk.


12. Your closet is full of "teacher clothes."


13. Half your friends are Education or Social Work majors.


14. You find yourself giving mini-lessons on the Sioux Indians or photosynthesis, because it's a part of who you are.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.
