It's easy to get so caught up in the hustle and the Holidays, and sometimes we forget to embrace this season and all the wonderful things it has to offer. Here's how to make sure the most wonderful time of the year doesn't pass you by.
1. Volunteer.
It can be easy to let the commercial definition of the Holidays be at the forefront of our minds during this season, but it's important to remember the true meaning behind Christmas. Giving to those who are less fortunate than you might be one of the best gifts you can give, both to them and yourself.
2. Make Gingerbread houses.
3. Go ice skating.
4. Watch all the Christmas Movies you can.
5. Attend a tree lighting or light festival.
Tree lighting, Zoo lights, or just driving through neighborhoods that go all out with their lights. Take your pick.
6. Bake and decorate Christmas cookies.
Whether you share them with friends or scarf down a whole dozen, sometimes the best way to spread Holiday cheer is through your stomach.
7. Wear ugly Christmas sweaters as often as possible.
It's a bold and festive fashion choice.
8. Decorate, Decorate, Decorate.
9. Jam to Christmas music.
Even though any time is good for Christmas music, in my opinion, embrace the short period of time you won't get shamed for listening to "All I Want For Christmas is You" "too early."
10. People watch at the mall as everyone rushes to do last minute shopping.
Sure shopping can be fun, but watching chaos ensue as people rush to get the perfect gift two days before Christmas is one of the best parts of the season.
11. Treat yourself to some Holiday drinks.
Those red cups won't stay at Starbucks forever.
12. Spend time with the people you love.
This is one of the reasons for the season, after all.
13. Burn those Holiday candles.
14. Two words: Christmas socks.
15. Perform random acts of kindness.
Whether it be getting your friend a coffee out of the blue or holding the door open for someone carrying boxes, let the Christmas spirit resonate through you. After all, Giving is the reason for the season.
