15 Ways Rory Gilmore Prepared Me For College

In honor of the Gilmore Girls reunion a few weeks ago, I decided to recognize Rory Gilmore for helping me through my freshman year. Gilmore Girls was and still is one of the greatest shows, and it introduced me to one of the most inspiring role models. Through Rory's insanely organized and highly motivated disposition as well as her successes and struggles with school work, relationships, and food, I felt prepared and excited to transition into college.

1. Coffee is your best friend.

2. It’s okay to stay in on the weekend.

3. Don't be afraid to take risks.

4. Your high school friends will always be there for you.

5. It's okay if you don't have it all together.

6. You're going to have bad days.

7. On those bad days, food is your BFF.

8. Seriously.

9. You are your biggest motivator.

10. It's normal to be homesick.

11. Communal bathrooms suck.

12. You might actually enjoy the classes you take.

13. You will study a lot.

14. No matter what, try your hardest.

15. And remember that...
