The hype of Fall has now begun, and there are a few things that will get you in the mood to take on the cool crisp weather autumn has to bring. Basic pumpkin spice lattes, fuzzy socks and Halloween movies will put anyone in the spirit for the season. Here are some fun things you should add to your Fall checklist.

1. Let's Decorate!

Environment is everything when it comes to getting in the mood for those cool fall days. Place a few pumpkins and other harvest items around your house.

2. Apple Cider Warms the Soul

Having a hot drink on a cold day will warm you up instantly, this means it's time to log into Pinterest and find a recipe for this yummy drink.

3. Break out the Boots

It's time to put away the sandals and break out the boots, any reason to shop for shoes...Am I right ladies?

4. Movie Time!

I think this one of the most anticipated elements of fall It's something about throwback Halloween movies that sets the tone for the season...It's just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!!!

5. S'mores Galore!

One of my personal favorite things to do during this chilly season is to roast marshmallows and make some delicious s'mores!

6. Scarves save lives...

... Enough Said

7. Get your costume early

We've all been there, we wait until the last minute and all the good costumes are taken so make it your mission to start shopping early.

8. Smells Like Fall Spirit!

I don't know about you but the smell of pumpkin spice or crisp apples always makes me smile from ear to ear.

If you are looking for a more natural approach, try making some of your own home.

9. Invest in cozy blankets

Cuddling up with you favorite cozy blanket is sure to keep you warm and toasty during bonfires...which brings me to my next point.

10. Host a Bonfire

This is the perfect way to gather up your close friends for a night of endless fun. Roast hot dogs, tell ghost stories and share the company of good people

11. Binge watch Goosebumps...it's on Netflix

12. Change your makeup

Ladies, this is another one of those things we look forward to all year. This dark red, has been the hype for the past couple of years.

13. This next one is a love it or hate, but there is absolutely NO denying it...Pumpkin. Spice. Lattes.

14. For my natural hair beauties, I suggest wearing protective style to protect your delicate strands from the harsh winds, box braids are a personal favorite of mine.

15. Create a Fall Music Playlist to keep the joys of autumn alive.

Here are some suggestions:

"Thriller" - Michael Jackson

"I Put a Spell On You" - Nina Simone

"Monster Mash" - Bobby Pickett

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
